Fill up with inspiration

November 16, 2017 | 11 comments

If you’re one of those people who struggle with eating too much food, focus your desires on filling up with inspiration instead. Reach for spiritual truth with your thought before your reach for another dish in the refrigerator.

As Jesus taught, “You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat” The Message, Matt. 5:6.

It’s not more food that makes you a happy person. To be honest, overeating often causes people to feel the opposite of happy. Any promise of fulfillment or ease from overindulging is pure illusion. And it’s not cool to live a life of constantly being deluded. It’s healthier to wake up to reality and enjoy the enduring freedom and joy that come from exercising dominion over appetite and finding happiness in spiritual understanding.

So, don’t fear overeating any longer. It’s not necessary. It’s not an act that you are required to do. There is nothing attractive about it. You can fill up on truth and love coming from God. It’s a metaphysical consumption of spiritual good flowing into consciousness in the form of inspiration from on High.

Sit down at God’s table for your next meal, and reach for the bread of Truth before sticking anything into your mouth. Seek spiritual contentment before more food.

“May you be filled with joy” Col. 1:11, NLT.

  1. Good morning Evan and everyone. I loved the topic you selected to reflect on. Maybe because it is not strange to me since I have struggled with being overweight since I was a child, continuously ascending and descending. That’s why I liked the topic that you chose today to think and work. It is a beautiful article. Blessings for all.

  2. CHRIST JESUS: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

  3. Thank you, Evan. This is an important message. When my husband passed several years ago, I vowed to not use the refrigerator for comfort. This enabled me to avoid the weight gain that I had noticed others had experienced after losing a loved one.

  4. This is such a timely topic with Thanksgiving dinner coming up and the tendency to over indulge. Thanks Shireen for the link to Jill Gooding’s article that I can share with others.

  5. Thank you Evan, I needed this reminder. As Lori said, this is such a timely topic with Thanksgiving dinner coming up and the tendency to over indulge. Also, my thanks to Shireen for the link to Jill Gooding’s article – it was wonderful.

  6. Thank you Evan for your blog today. “It’s healthier to wake up to reality and enjoy the enduring freedom and joy that come from exercising dominion over appetite and finding happiness in spiritual understanding.” For me it is exercising dominion over lack of appetite and finding happiness in spiritual understanding. A practitioner mentioned to me this week “this day is divinely authorized”. I began to realize all my activity included in this day is divinely authorized so this includes taking time to eat normally, and see food has no power to harm. Reaching for the bread of Truth first is divinely authorized. Metaphysical consumption of spiritual good is satisfying, can never harm and I can come and see what God has prepared for my enjoyment and nourishment to meet my every human need.

Thank you for your help in waking from this dream.
