Are you listening to divine Mind?

December 28, 2017 | 14 comments

Are you listening to the divine Mind or the human mind today? Your answer determines how much progress you can expect to make.

The human mind sees limits and often argues for lack. It believes the world is material and thus fraught with danger and struggle.

The divine Mind sees the infinite universe of Spirit where there is boundless supply, reliable health and enduring peace.

If you entertain suggestions like, “I might get a disease,” or “My co-worker is hard to get along with,” or “I’m overwhelmed with debt,” you’re listening to the human mind.

If you rejoice in truths like, “God made me healthy and keeps me healthy,” or “My co-worker expresses the same one Mind of Love that I do,” or “The assets of divine Mind are sufficient to pay any debt,” then you’re listening to divine Mind.

The human mind reasons materially. The divine Mind understands spiritually. The first leads to lack and despair. The latter, to solutions, harmony and peace.

Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “In a world of sin and sensuality hastening to a greater development of power, it is wise earnestly to consider whether it is the human mind or the divine Mind which is influencing one.”
Science and Health, p. 82.

If you want to prosper, stay healthy and excel, listen to divine Mind! God will always lead you right and keep you safe and well.

    1. Oops. That was a mistake! Sorry about that. The word “conflict” in the 3rd to last paragraph should have been peace. I have edited it accordingly. Thanks for pointing it out.

  1. I am sure Evan meant some word oter than “conflict”..hopefully he can correct so the great message can be spiritually correct.

So am helped by all the uplifting Spiritviews EACH DAY and all the great comments that come along from all.

    Peace and love to all.

  2. Maybe we can just add the word “resolution” after “conflict” and we’ll be all good to go. Agreed?

    Peace and love

  3. Good day Evan and seekers of Truth. Today’s article is very interesting because taken into practice really makes a difference. You have to be as Mrs. Eddy says a doorman at the door of thought. This is very logical, it is the goalkeeper’s job to be able to discern and reject the incorrect proposals of the carnal mind. Animal magnetism aims to excel and we must be alert
I am a seeker of Truth, a fighter in that sense, but in situations one is influenced by the human mind that acts stealthily. Being a goalkeeper sounds easy, but requires constant attention, which I still can not achieve. It will arrive. Likewise, one day by day it becomes more affirmed in the Truth. Thanks and blessings.

  4. Sue, I think your clarification is excellent, I think that’s the right thing, conflict resolution. Knowing the substance of the texts of Evan is logical that this is what he wanted to put. Thank you for your edifying thought.

  5. Thank you Evan. Sue, I think resolution sounds like what Evan meant. Thank you for discerning that and sharing it. 🙂

  6. 2018 brings a new adventure into my life and knowing that Mind is at the helm of it, will bring me peace and a beautiful unfoldment of it.

Have a happy and blessed New Year everyone!

  7. Evan,
What a wonderful lesson to see if readers could discern the real message rather than using material eyes to see it! Even though it was hidden behind a material word the spiritual message was there the whole time. 🙂

  8. The logic of divine Science is so….so….wonderful! It reduces all our seeming human struggles to
the basic problem: mentality. It may seem a bit challenging to….challenge what seems to be our very own thinking, but this Science shows us how, and why! I so love the analogy of the flat earth vs the round earth. Basic. We have left that false concept (“flat”) for the scientific fact that the earth is, of course, round. Just so, logically, Mind, real, true, divine Mind, can ONLY be infinite! The short-“flat”- mind, called in Science “mortal mind” is clearly not real. It dissolves in presence of the Real Mind, God!

    Whew!

    ;<))

  9. If we are standing porter at the door of thought, Mind; then what is it that we guard from entrance? Is it not the false idea of mortal thought? Is not the conflict between the real and the unreal perception a constant struggle until the battle is won with peace and harmony? On the human level this conflict is continuous until all the old bottles of bodily experience are exchanged for new bottles for the spiritual understanding, the wine of wisdom, the foundation of all that truly exist through Christ. Thank you Evan for this wonderful post.

  10. This thought came to me as I was praying this morning that God not only created me in His image and likeness, but he also maintains me in His image and likeness, absolutely perfect and entirely spiritual. This is true for all mankind!
