Move beyond belief to truth

December 26, 2017 | 10 comments

Just because you believe something, doesn’t mean its true.

To stay on a safe path, it’s important to compare what one believes to an absolute truth. If it conforms, then you’re safe, for truth always keeps you in the best possible situation.

If the belief cannot be supported with truth, then it’s fallible, and inevitably leads to undesirable consequences.

Truth is Spirit, God.

  1. Often, we find what are realities, may be based on suggestions without merit. Taking a second look, we find a narrative that may explain the meaning as a greater responsibility for our thinking. The suggestion of finding the truth, often, clears our thinking and we become interested with a spiritual acknowledgement.

  2. If we love ourselves
    deeply enough….
    Love reveals
    it’s true source..
    The source is
    not human…
    The source is
    the ineffable..
    A source True
    A source tender
    stable.. secure..
    A source
    everlasting….
    Power draped
    in Goodness

    1. Thank you Maximo for your inspired poem.
What means ineffable – I cannot find it in my english dictionary.

Not mere human belief, but spiritual Truth which is God, is most desirable and really healing. Spiritmindedness leads us to Truth. Am very grateful to learn all this in Christian Science, the great Comforter.

Thank you Evan for this important impulse of thought; very helping to think about it.

      1. ineffable

too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words.
“the ineffable natural beauty of the Everglades”

        1. Thank you Gary, I do understand now. So like undescribable, I think.
I have a Video Cassett about the Everglades, very interesting, yes and beautiful. 😉

  3. Thanks, Evan—and Maximo for your poem. What comes to mind is MBE’s statement, “Stick to the truth of being in contradistinction to the error that life, substance, and intelligence can be in matter.” (S&H 418:5-6) She then goes on to say that “if your fidelity is half equal to the truth of your plea, you will heal the sick.” The paragraph heading is “Christian Pleading.” Wow!

  4. “As light destroys darkness and in the place of darkness all is light, so (in absolute Science) Soul, or God, is the only truth-giver to man.” (S&H 72:9-12.)

  5. Thank you Evan for getting us thinking in new paths. And thank you Maximo for the beautiful poem…

“A source tender stable.. secure..” <3

    "Power draped in Goodness" brilliant!
