He who is not grateful for the good things he has,

would not be happy with what he wishes he had.

  1. YES,i AM GRATEFUL FOR THE MANY TINGS i HAVE. I FEEL GOD HAS GIVEN ME THE RIGHT THINGS I NEED, FAITH, FAMILY THE RIGHT CHOICE AND A WAY TO LIVE BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND HAVING MY NEEDS PROVIDED FOR ME. THIS BLOG IS ALWAYS HELPFUL TO AND THE MANY PERSONS CONTRIBUTING THEIR VIEWS WHICH ENHANCE MY NEEDS.

    THANK YOU, ALL.

  2. Gratitude is healing oil, and oil is “consecration, charity, gentleness, prayer, heavenly inspiration:*; and these are my daily nourishment and joy. They guide my thought to God hourly, and I respond with even more gratitude in rejoicing over my spiritual foundation, the rock of my life and the Truth of all existence for me and for all. These blot out what is not right, what is not blessing me and what is not allowing the ever flowing river of divine justice pouring out blessings for all. Thank you, God, for the Bible, Christian Science and Mrs. Eddy’s consecrated life lived for the benefit of all mankind.

  3. Good day Evan and group. What is written by the anonymous author that you chose for today is very true. What the author wants to do is call for reflection and make us see that if we are not grateful for what we already have, we would not be grateful for it. Because they are people who, no matter how much they have, feel dissatisfied and therefore ungrateful.
Me, I agree with Bill. I have what I need and I feel gratitude for that, but above all for the things of the Spirit. Having known Christian Science as a child by my grandmother Laura, by my family and by the SV family that one is getting to know thanks to the beautiful blog of Evan and his spiritual wealth, to my pets that have always given me examples of love, tenderness, grace … so much to thank … healings and more … I could write a whole day for all of it. It matters to have quality and not quantity. Blessings to all.

  4. Oh yes so true, I remember my CS teacher said, “I’m grateful to be grateful “. I’ve remembered that for over 30 years.

  5. The hymn, “A grateful heart a garden is, Where there is always room,
For every lovely God-like grace, To come to perfect bloom” comes to mind… “a grateful heart that loves and blesses all”. Thank You, Evan, for this reminder for us to be grateful. We all Do have so much to be grateful for.

  6. I’m grateful for the reminder this morning to be grateful! I’m so grateful for CS in my life, for the growing understanding that God is my life. It is the only thing that truly satisfies me. Our cups are running over! Thank you Father-Mother God, thank you Evan, and thank you SV family for spiritual insights.

  7. Thanks, Evan. Gratitude has brought healing into my life many times. When joy and thankfulness fill our thought there is no room for dis-ease or lack. “Our gratitude is riches, Complaint is poverty.” (Hymn 249)

  8. I’ve always felt that when ever one feels out of sorts a perfect resolution is to write a gratitude list. You can’t help but feel better. Maybe even healed! We often seem dwell on how bad we feel but pouring out our gratitude is the solution. Some rope might feel they have nothing. Start with something as simple as the line down the middle of the road! My favorite saying is
“Gratitude is riches;poverty is complaint”! Choose gratitude .,I love to say ” Thank you, father” throughout the day.

  9. Thank you Evan and contributors. 🙂 Gratitude fills all space. It overfloweth. Mary Baker says in The First Church of Christ Scientist and Miscellany Pg. 210:1-11 “Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them. It is plain that nothing can be added to the mind already full. There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness. Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from attacks of error of every sort. And not only yourselves are safe, but all whom your thoughts rest upon are thereby benefited.”

  10. Once Evan said in one of his former SpiritViews that everything good we experienced and will experience in our life is given us from God, who is the only real giver of all good.
Since then at least I remembered very much good I had always and am so so grateful for everything good that happens to me, and acknowleged it absolutely as given me from God.

In former times I thought I am not grateful enough. But then the angel message came clear to me, that we cannot be grateful out of our own, but it is a precious quality from our Father-Mother God which he bestowed upon us. Since then I could be grateful, also give thankful testimonies in church. I am thankful for this divine quality of Gratitude, as also some SV-friends said today. Yes and thank you all for the inspired and helpful comments!

Gratitude is very supportive to healing!
One can be grateful for God`s presence and love and care when one seems to be in greatest need for help. Then God`s help is there. I am grateful that I learnt that in Christian Science.

I also love that Hymn 249. Carol shared some lovely words out of this hymn – thank you.

Thank you so much, Evan, for the important reminder to be grateful.!

  11. My wonderful mother always taught me to count my blessings and as a child, I didn’t always want to do that, but being obedient, I did. It is the most important thing she taught me. I’m forever grateful.

  12. Lovely message! And, so true.

For me, it took getting away from Christian Science to appreciate it. When in college, specifically when I had to stop going to Sunday School, I didn’t feel a connection with the people at the church in my city. I knew CS worked, but I wanted to see what else was out there. I explored many different spiritual paths, and connected spiritually with many different people, but ended up back with CS; and I am now very grateful for it!

  13. I love to read what you all write, inspired by Evan’s inspired thought for the day. Evan, it is like you turned on a faucet in our thoughts and they poured out.

  14. I am so grateful for the good God gives….whether a beautiful sunrise, a hymn , a smile or healing messages on this blog. Thank you Evan and all for your love. Blessings to all today. I am so grateful for each one of you.
