Don’t wait for change. Be the change.

January 11, 2018 | 28 comments

If you ever find yourself waiting around for a healing to happen, it’s time for a new approach! Don’t wait for change. Be the change!

To feel stuck, is to believe that matter is somehow limiting your expression of infinite Life. This is a lie that can be overturned with spiritual truth.

Each of us are spiritual children of God, with no limits on our being. The thought that feels stuck, can get unstuck by accepting this truth.

Waiting for time to pass is not what causes mental reformation that leads to healing. Desire to grow spiritually and a willingness to let go of limiting material concepts, is what speeds healing. In prayer, we become the change we seek.

So, no more waiting for healing to happen tomorrow. Embrace your perfection now and find freedom today!

  1. That’s so reassuring Evan. Yes healing results in just understanding your unity and inseparability from God, good. We never need to wait. Because, as soon as this reality of our unbreakable bond with God dawns upon our understanding the unreality called “sickness” or discomfort vanishes into its native nothingness.
I experienced this blessing last evening when I was walking my way to attend our Wednesday Testimony Meeting. An unbearable pain struck my left knee and hip joints. I could barely walk. For a moment I was tempted to head back home. Brushing away this thought, I took the help and understanding of the Scientific Statement of Being. “There is no life, truth, intelligence nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation for God is all in all. Spirit is immortal truth, Matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and the eternal, matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God and man is Gods image and likeness. So man is not material but spiritual.” Just a few steps into this understanding and I could walk comfortably and attend my meeting. The pain just left and joy set into my consciousness. Thanks be to the good God.. “Step by step will those who trust in God find that He is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

  2. Good day Evan and seekers of Truth. Our dear Mrs. Eddy, says in Science and Health, under the title: “Truth is an alterant”, the following: “Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth that invigorates and purifies ….. it is a alterative that neutralizes the error with the Truth …. “(read it completely). It is the first thing that came to me when I read this excellent article by Evan that is very helpful. Blessings to all.

  3. Oh God!!. This morning I thought how nice it would be for Nergish to comment today. And when I upload my comment I see your intervention Nergish. So awaited by the depth of the analysis of Evan’s articles. Thank you, thank you and what a nice experience you had …

  4. Thanks Gustavo. Missed you too. I love you all, who inspire me with lovely comments. My dearest dad passed on and I needed some time for myself to pray.

I must say that he was very receptive to the teachings of Christian Science and each time when the doctors gave up on him, it was the sincere prayers of a righteous friend, which worked wonders. But unfortunately this time it was not so. Perhaps he decided to pass on to the other consciousness.

My dad was just short of six months for a century. In March, 2018 he would be 100 years old. He had faith in the power of God, was very generous towards the poor and needy, honest to the core, always grateful and never slept without saying “Biggest thank you to God”. Even when he was in discomfort he would affirm “All is well. I am fine”. I do miss my dad a lot. But I know he has awoken to a better world and is continuing in his journey with God. As Mrs.Eddy says, we all shall meet again when we pass on to that consciousness where our departed loved ones are. I am sure to meet my dad again one day.

Thanks Gustavo. A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR – 2018 to Evan, to you, and to all our Spirit View friends.

    1. Yes, Nergish you are so right about your Dad. I’m sure he is now aware of a greatly expanded “bigger picture” of himself. There is no separation between God’s ideas as we are all one…the “universal man”, the “compound idea of God including all right ideas” as MBE says, and at ONE in consciousness with the creator. I have spent the last 2 years working through this so I wish you well and know that divine Love supports the struggling heart.

      1. Nergish, what wonderful testimonies you shared with us! Thank you for this inspiration. The love and comforting thoughts that are shared by this group is immeasurable in it’s heartwarming nature. Thank you, Evan, for bringing this family of universal expressions of love together.

    2. Dear Nergish,

I also am thanking you so much for your two experiences; your gorgeous immediate healing yesterday and the inspired experience with your dear dad. Both give me a lot good!

Yes Tyke, the Daily Lift is inspiring and loving, too. But Evan`s SpiritView gives me much more inspiration and insight because it goes deeper into the relevant theme. And I am embraced in Love by the SV and by a l l the loving and inspiring comments from a loving SV-family – thank you very much a l l !! 😉

Wonderful Evan, today`s SV, thanks a lot for the lesson! Am working on it.

In this weeks lesson sermon one sentence comes to my mind: desire is prayer.

And: God knows what we have need of before we ask Him.

I can only say always, that I am immensely gratefu for Evan`s SpiritView and for Christian Science!

    3. Nergish just another way of saying “he’s gone just around a windy corner, merely out of sight”; knowing you’ll see him again. blessings.

  5. Nergish difficult moment, but you’ll be fine. I already went through that experience and one fully recovers. You are in one of the pillars for your recovery, which is Evan, its participants, its readers. We all reflect the Divine Love and express it. I send you a big hug!!

  6. Thank you, Evan. Just what I needed. Recently I have been reading Science and Health every day to get a clearer understanding of God. I have wondered why sometimes we don’t experience healing. We must understand our unbreakable relation to God, our perfection as God’s expression, spiritual right now. Mrs. Eddy instructs on page 259 of S & H : “The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea, -perfect God and perfect man, – as the basis of thought and demonstration.”

Thank you, Nergish, for sharing your healing. You took an immediate stand for the Turth,
your perfection as a present reality.

  7. When I saw the topic I immediately thought of Leo tolstoy’s comment that “everyone thinks of changing the world but no one thinks of changing himself”

  8. Wonderful!

    Thank you Evan and everyone!

Nergish, your Testimony to your father’s life is so uplifting.

I have funeral to attend for a dear CS friend, who always had the perfect reply for every situation and comment.

I do hope her non-CS family were able to see the Love she expressed in her daily walk with God ♡

  9. Thanks for the reminder of the necessity for change. It brought to thought a quotation attributed to Muhatma Ghandi: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” That’s a demand for action, not reticence and acceptance of the status quo. I find it a demand to express our God-given perfection, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do so.

  10. Spelling correction. That should read MAHATMA Ghandi, a term of endearment meaning “Great Soul.” His given name was Mohandas Ghandi.

  11. Thank you Evan and all sharing today, your Blog is also an additional “ Daily lift “ for me. This page is so inspiring every morning! I was thinking about another acronym for CS, to me it also means Constantly Satisfying. Christian Science is always constantly satisfying because it is all inclusive and embracing and an exact science like math. In continuing with your healing idea of being the change,it’s like the cross and crown. The cross represents disease, a linear line that thinks it has a beginning and ending. If disease has a beginning ie, headache, stubbed toe, cancer, etc , then it must have an ending, which can be right now! The crown on the other hand represents a promise, a circle of love, no beginning or ending, constant satisfaction, beauty, joy, etc. This is where we love to live, in the encircling arms of divine Love, where we can never leave. We need to wake up and illuminate ourselves like your lightbulb above and find our changed perspective. Ahhh, what a grand day we get in CS with our Awesome Father!
    Happy and joyful day All!

  12. It’s never too late to change our way of thinking and acting. Now is the accepted time – today is big with blessings. How grateful I am for these daily reminders and today’s comments were all so helpful, especially great to hear from Nergish. Thanks for sharing the experience with your Dad and your instantaneous healing . This is truly a worldwide, loving family!

  13. Thank you , Evan! I love the way you think!! You are my gift from God. Giving me insightinto so many ideas. They are timely, too ! Love to all…

  14. Dear Nergish,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience. The generosity, honesty, gratitude – qualities which your dad embraced come from God and are spiritual. They are eternal and forever expressed through you and all those he lived and worked with, and who knew him well. You will be comforted by the article below. It comes with much love to you and yours.

  15. Hi Nergish,
I am sorry to hear of your father passing. Much love to you too. Thank you for sharing your healing.

    Shireen,
That is a beautiful article. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you Evan and commenters for sharing your loving thoughts.

There is an article titled “Accepting the True Report” by Milton Simon in Anthology of Classic Articles II that some may find helpful relating to Evan’s SpiritView today. 🙂

  16. Thanks Shireen for being so thoughtful and kind. The article is lovely and very comforting indeed. Deeply grateful. Much love and God bless.

So kind of you Kirsten for your suggestion to read the article “Accepting the true report”. Must be very helpful. I need to re read it.

Thanks Gustavo, Diane, Carol, Uta, Barb, Chilesands, Shelagh, Lori and all my friends on Spirit View for your affection and appreciation. I love my Spirit View Family and deeply grateful to Evan for bringing us all so close and connected.

  17. “Desire to grow spiritually and a willingness to let go of limiting material concepts, is what speeds healing.” Thank you for sharing these angel messages.

  18. Nergish,
what a wonderful Dad you have. Such positive love expressed to everyone. This weeks lesson on Life is so wonderful in explaining our progress after what is called death. I was a young mother when my mother passed on and a CS friend told me she had progressed.
That comforted me but I didn’t understand at the time, but over the years I gratefully have come to understand through the writings of MBE. This has helped me through the passing of my Dad, my husband, pets and others close to me. Knowing they are still progressing.
    Shirleen,
I have always loved The Passing of the Seagull. Thanks for sharing.
    Thanks Evan for the Blog.
