Clarity of thought

If you’re looking for clarity of thought, you’ll find it in spiritual mindedness.

Clarity of thought is thinking that clearly distinguishes between truth and error.

In a clear thought, there is no confusion about what is real and what is not real. The difference between the two is like black and white.

Clear thought is spiritual thought. And spiritual thought comes from the divine Mind, the Mind of God, which all children of God have in common.

One of the best places to go for finding clear thought is in the Scientific Statement of Being, found in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. This statement of being makes a clear and definitive statement as to what is real and what is not real. There is no confusion between the two.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science, asked, and then answered,

“Question. — What is the scientific statement of being?

“Answer. — There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual” Science and Health, p. 468.

  1. Thank you yet again, Evan.
This morning I studied the Bible Lesson carefully and noted in the margin all the qualities of God and man that it brings out – eg: Spirit/spiritual, innocent, Life, Love, Truth, grace, patience, kindness, truthfulness, goodness and mercy – and that was just the first Bible section! There are many more in correlative passages from ‘Science and Health’. We learn that only what is true and innocent enters the atmosphere of Spirit, and so we should recognise our rightful place there, where we find the clear, spiritual thought you speak of.

  2. That reminds me at a sentence Mary Baker Eddy wrote in Science and Health, as well, namely: “All is Spirit and all is spiritual. From this standpoint you have to work; matter cannot help you.”

Thank you Evan, for this most important Truth, you gave us today!
    Love to work with it.

Thank you all for your comments and looking forward to others, too.

  3. A wise man once said: Mrs Eddy wrote The Scientific Statement of Being and then wrote 600 pages to explain it. Thank u, Evan for your constant and unwavering “Carity of Thought”

  4. This couldn’t be clearer! Thanks Evan. Clarity is a lovely quality of divine Mind and it’s supremely natural for us.

  5. I’ve recently been pondering again the two beautiful paintings by Riviere of “Daniel” and “Daniels Answer to the King.” These are the portrayals, respectively, of Daniel, first in the lions den, and then near the end of his “visit” with them. The former, however, preceded the “Answer” painting by about 18 years.

It is very instructive in thought to “see” these powerful works as visual equivalents of Mrs. Eddy’s “Scientific Statement of Being.” Both are very present helps in trouble!

  6. Thank you Evan. This wonderful message is perfect for the day. I am so grateful. Blessings and clarity to all.
