  1. I had to come to the site to get this. I had checked earlier, but nothing in my in boxt oday. I love this idea!

  2. Wow, i too love this verse, because it shows what Jesus Christ and i think Mrs. Eddy said, that we shall let follow our words good deeds, that is good and loving behavior. And that has a healing effect!
I received this SpiritView very early (still night) on Saturday 30th Januar 21. But I am very grateful I got it, although I had to press “newer” on the SV from Thursday.
If we always and in every situation express heartfelt Love, we always behave good to every creature of our loving Father-Mother God! ♡
Dear Evan, thanks very much for this important reminder!♡♡♡

  3. Mrs. Eddy makes an interesting statement about Jesus’s works when she says: “ His words were the offspring of his deeds, both of which must be understood. “ And then she so profoundly says: “ unless the works are comprehended which his words explained, the words are blind. “ S&H 350:11f.
She has such a beautiful way of awaking our thought to both think and feel the profound depth of spiritually understanding the connection between our words and our deeds.
Thanks Even for getting this ball rolling.

  4. Last evening I tucked my wife into bed. She had a long day of chores and entertaining grandchildren. I began to ask how a difficult situation with one granddaughter was being handled. She replied that how could she get any rest with this conflict in thought?
How absurd it was for me to bring issues of inharmony to her bedside. I began to realize from her discomfort that it was very wrong to bring such things up during her restful time.
I began to softly recite the Lord’s Prayer with it’s spiritual interpretation as given in the Christian Science test book. Then our daily prayer. She began to relax. Next I sung familiar soft songs.
Finally I recited a non-sense poem by Lewis Carol written in 1871, Jabberwocky. My wife began to laugh uncontrollably! Ending a poor beginning with comforting words. She is still asleep safe and resting for yet another day to bless everyone in her own world with her special kind of love and unselfishness.
Isaiah 40:1 “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people saith your God.” I love this verse. It certainly helped my behavior last evening.

    1. As a substitute teacher, I travel from one school to another, seldom spending more than one day at a time at one school. Though I sometimes work with people I’ve worked with before, I often work with people I’ve just met.
Sometimes one of those co-workers, principals, or office personnel has had a “bad day” and behaves in a way that makes it difficult for those who work with them, including the substitute teacher. But I’ve found what I’ve learned as a Christian Scientist that harmony can be achieved by expressing Love, a synonym for God. Mrs. Eddy wrote on page 201 of Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures, “The way to extract error from mortal mind is to pour in truth through flood-tides of Love” (according to the Mary Baker Eddy Library, she wrote this when there was a miner’s strike).
Rather than feeling justified by thinking someone has behaved in an unkind way toward me or others and that I have a “right” to feel slighted, praying to see that person as God’s beloved child, just as all of us are, has almost always brought harmonious results, even with the so-called difficult person voluntarily apologizing for her/his behavior. It has also brought healing when dealing with students who come to class feeling out of sorts.
I am very grateful for Christian Science and how it has taught me that the real preparation for a day’s work at school is to claim Love’s dominion over all before I enter the building’s doors.

      1. Dear Leah, You are so valued and needed as a substitute teacher! I totally empathize with you, as I was also a “guest teacher”. It’s a challenging and vital position which should be upgraded and respected socially and remuneratively. As a CS’t you bring a light which will bless all you come in contact with. Thank you for your perseverance!!

        1. Thank you, Cathryn, for your kind words. I have found that 99% (guesstimate) of the time, teachers and other school personnel appreciate the “last minute” assistance substitutes provide. As I’m sure you also discovered, expressing Love in the classroom works wonders!

    1. THAT’S a keeper! Thanks!
Error is always nothingness. MBE says, “According to Christian Science, material personality is an error in premise, and must result in erroneous conclusions.” (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 309:4–6)

So to take lightly a personality-self churning with emotions about material sensations, and fearful views identifies it correctly as shadow-error,– nowhere, no one, nothing, and never, and allows the all-presence, all-power and all-identity of pure Spirit, the one Mind, to dissolve it into sweet light.

As my teacher used to say, “Dear, which part of ALL don’t you understand?”

  5. twas brillig and the slythy tothes did gyre and gimbol in the wabe [or somthing]

thank you David for a surprising LOL at this dark hour and holy hour and for everyone’s thoughtful offerings

  6. This, along with our weekly lesson on Love is just what I needed this morning. A church member did something very purposeful and careless and I was having a very hard time dealing with it. I’ve finally worked through it and thank you Evan and SV friends! No need to speak to her, just with God.

  7. If we act as we think and our thoughts are spiritually conceived with the understanding of a singular infinite being that has a many expression under the divine Principle Truth of Life held within the bounds of Love then we have successfully achieved the Mind of spiritual understanding, Spirit, in Soul.

  8. Gorgeous photo, Evan! And thank you for introducing me (us) to Dr. Sukhraj Dhillon. I found a few other wise quotes/angel ideas from her I’d like to share: “You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes everyday–unless you’re too busy; then you should sit for an hour”; “Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle”; “We don’t quit playing because we grow old; We grow old because we quit playing.” I’m grateful that Mary was open to the wisdom of many spiritual seers throughout her life. She wished the same for us! “Whatever inspires with wisdom, song or science blesses the human family…”

  9. Thanks to Evan’s initial, perfect offering, and the precious, open, insightful, uplifting sharing of my loved [Sunday] Everyday School Class, I felt as though I gain more each day… uplifted each day!
how dearly I love the unselfish, generous sharing & giving… we’re breaking healing bread of together,
    Love
    Thank you
