Live the present, not the past

July 23, 2021 | 15 comments

Are you living in the present, or in the past?

If you’re ever tempted to dwell on events that happened in the past, perhaps entertaining feelings of anger, regret, resentment, or grief about those events, it’s time to start living in the present!

As a child of God, you don’t have a mortal past to agonize over. You have a spiritual present to celebrate, live and enjoy!

Life is not something that happened in the past. God is Life, and God is happening now.

Life is happening now!

What seemed to happen yesterday does not affect what is spiritually happening today.

Love is not lost in the past. Love is here now!

The means to happiness and joy are never left behind. They are present to enjoy now!

Health is not greater in yesteryear. It is present now to express fully and abundantly.

Be clear that you are not a mortal living out a mortal dream of life in matter with beginnings and endings.

You are an immortal living your eternal spiritual life with God here and now!

Life did not happen yesterday. It’s happening now.

Be sure to live it fully and abundantly. Here and now!

    1. Thank you very much Angie for this wonderful article, revealing to us our very present and perfect spiritual identity as God’s loving child!♡

  1. A very good SpiritView, but it isn’t in our emails,
I don’t want anyone to miss it.
    Happy happy God weekend everyone.

And maybe you are aware or it. If so sorry I
    mentioned it.

    But glad I found it.

      1. I had to go to the website to get this wonderful message. Nothing can prevent this healing message from going through its proper channels.

  2. Sheila and M, it is still not in my inbox though it is 8 pm evening. But to click on “newer” below on yesterday’s wonderful SpiritView, you come to today’s SV!
What Evan says today reminds me at a podcast I listened to these days. There it was said that as God is Omnipresence, He is infinite. And that this infinite Omnipresence was in the past, too and will be in the fiture as well and of course is n o w! So actually cannot be anything in the past to regret or in the Future to be afraid of. There can only be the OMNIPRESENCE of God, divine Truth, Life and Love which determins all our happening in Spirit. And I learned and still learn that our Life is totally spiritual, as God, our Life is Spirit. That is very comforting for me.
Thank you dear Evan for letting me ponder this toppic ” to live the present not the past”. and not yet in the Future.
Mrs. Eddy says that we shall not yet think about what is tomorrow. It is enough that we should work out the efforts of today – so in that sense. Wow I am working on that doing my best with God’s help ♡

    1. Thanks Uta, I enjoyed reading your comments. Evan reminds us not to live in the past and, as you said, Mrs. Eddy tells us we need not get concerned about the future. She plants us right in the Now. She says in Miscellaneous Writings, “God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn they give you daily supplies. Never ask for tomorrow, it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help….and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment.” (P.307)

Also regarding the past she says in Retrospection and Introspection, “The human history needs to be revised, and the material record expunged.” (p.22)

As I read Evan’s post, I see that past and future don’t actually exist and only Now is real. God can never be encountered when we seem lost in thoughts of past (which has already dissolved) or future (which is not here), but we are ever in His presence and can enjoy all His bountiful good, Now. How wonderful is that?

      1. Thank you Rose! I agree with you. I ment that we have not to worry about the past what was not so good we experienced and not about the future but just enjoy God’s Omnipresence.

  3. So grateful for this Evan. We live in the peace and harmony of Gods Kingdom, …now. .Happy weekend all❣️

  4. ONENESS

“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart; for I am called by Thy name, O Lord, God of hosts. ”
