Stay out of prison

August 26, 2013 | 4 comments

Prisons take many different forms in the lives of mortals. Concrete walls, barbed wire and bars are one form, and the least common. The more common forms include disease, fear, and sin. Billions of people struggle to shake these bonds off their health and happiness, and may serve long sentences in the process.
If it feels like you’re serving an onerous sentence, it’s time to break free! You are a child of God, endowed with the capacity to be healthy, sin-free and well. And you can be, with the help of spiritual sense.
Don’t let material sense imprison your perspective and view of healing possibility.
“In league with material sense, mortals take limited views of all things,” (Science and Health, p. 255,) Mary Baker Eddy wrote.
Material sense is the taskmaster that would keep thought locked into bondage to suffering. The key out of this prison cell is spiritual sense.
Spiritual sense discerns what material sense never sees, feels or hears.
Spiritual sense reveals the presence of health where material sense feels disease.
Spiritual sense hears inspiration that heals where material sense hears nothing.
Spiritual sense feels strength and power where material sense feels weak and hopeless.
Don’t be a victim to material sense.  Reject the mortal view that limits and accept the spiritual view that frees.
Eddy also wrote, “Slavery is not the legitimate state of man. God made man free” (Science and Health, p. 227).
You are not a prisoner to material sense.  You are free to serve God and enjoy all the benefits of being a beloved of the divine.

Spiritual sense is your path out of material sense to freedom!  Walk it today!

  1. Thank You Evan, I have been giving away my spiritual right by placing my thought on the wrong things. I was in prison of my own doing. I must dwell with a knowing trusting on Truth, Spirit as the only way to freedom and peace.

  2. The prodigal son is not just a story about time and place, it is really a story about consciousness finding its way back to the Father’s house, which is Oneness, the Kingdom of Heaven. Spiritual sense, the inner eye that sees the invisible and the inner ear that hears the invisible, comes about by awareness, by silencing the material senses. We all want a God experience, and we experience God by expressing Him. By expressing God, we find our oneness with Him , and our freedom.

  3. You heard of Prison Breaks in the news, on TV drama shows and novels. But Prison means more than that. What about the Prisons of our own making? Those Prisons seem hard to break from. SEEM, not is, for there is a system that guarantees those kind of Prison Breaks and that’s the study of Christian Science.

  4. And while we are on the subject of prisons, please know how important it is to bless those incarcerated for crimes. Their acts deserve punishment, but the individual never loses his status as a child of God. This person remains a perfect reflection of perfect God, loved, protected and guided.
