Wait on God, not on time

August 18, 2020 | 32 comments

Are you waiting around for something better to happen in the future? Wait no more.

All the good you could ever possess is with God, and God is with you now. You don’t have to wait to have God’s goodness! It’s more a matter of, “How fast are you willing to receive it?”

Time is of no help. The earth rotating around the sun does not bring more of God’s goodness into your life.

Spiritual mindedness is what opens consciousness to reality and experiences more of God’s abundance and supply.

Time is not a factor in how much good comes your way. Humility, open-mindedness, and receptivity are what help.

God loves you with an infinite love. This infinite love is not being withheld. It’s here now!

So, wait no more. Participate in what you already have.

Wait on God rather than on time for good things to happen. You’ll find good results much quicker.

“As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me” (Micah 7:7, NLT).

  1. The Bible says. ‘ Beloved, NOW we are the sons of God ‘ 1st John 3.
Nothing has changed! Our mortal ifs, buts and woes must disappear into their native nothingness when we hold on to the truth of our spiritual consciousness and enjoy all of Gods gifts so abundantly given to us. However ‘busy’ our schedule this NOW is ever present.
Thank you for the loving post Evan and the picture is beautiful too.❣️

    1. Thank you for your inspired thouht Evan!

      Barbara,

I love the photo too and was wondering if it might be Glastonbury Tor? Very “English” looking.

The promise about there being eternal light with no day in Revelation, it is so inspiring to see both the moon and the sun in the same shot.

  2. I love both the promise of God’s abundant grace right here and right now and my role in opening the flood gates..
Mrs. Eddy lays down the challenge when she says: “To live so as to keep human consciousness in constant relation with the divine , the spiritual, and the eternal, is to individualize infinite power; and this is Christian Science.” My 160:5f
I must live a certain way for those flood gates to open for those truths to be made manifest.
She describes the unselfed life style: “The heart that beats mostly for self is seldom alight with love.” My 160:4-5.
Unselfed love opens wide the gateway of God’s grace right here and right now..

  3. now it is high time
    to awake out of sleep:
    for now our salvation
    is nearer than
    when we believed
    [Rom13:11]

    Salvation: Life, Truth, and Love
    understood and demonstrate
    as supreme over all;
    sin, disease, and death destroyed.
    [SH593:20]

    Love now is dawning
    over every nation;
    Showing true brotherhood,
    publishing salvation,
    Love bids all discord cease,
    conquering hate,
    enthroning peace.
    Love, Love alone is power.
    [Hymn179:3]

    Joy to the world
    The Lord is come.
    [Hymn164:1]

    1. We all do have so much to be thankful for right Now…in this very moment!
Having these inspiring thoughts to feast upon is like Thanks-giving… giving
thanks for all the blessings. Just like every day is like Christmas ~ the gift of
Christ Spirit is with us always.
I love the graphic of the moon and sun together. The joys of nature are in themselves, cause for gratitude.
Thank you Evan and All, for being here with Love, right Now!

      1. Thank you Carol. I love your thought about Thanksgiving “Having these inspiring thoughts to feast upon” and Christmas “the gifts of Christ Spirit” being everyday. I will strive to be grateful daily for the abundant spiritual gifts from God. What a blessed year it will be!

  4. There’s no waiting around for good . “Love owns each waiting hour” Your blog was so inspiring and uplifting.. thank you so much.

  5. “How beautiful upon the mountains are him that bringth good tidings of great joy…”
Evan, thanks for each shared word of inspiration. Such a blessing isn’t measured by time, only understanding.

  6. The landscape picture is so lovely. A dreamy place to visit, now in our thought. Thank you for the the poem, Kirsten. Together we’ll climb the heights.
    Abundantly clear, Evan.
Still waiting for the day when I have more to share, still sharing whatever is given.
    Peaceful places, love and gratitude.

  7. It has occurred to me “wait on God” does not necessarily mean wait as in pass the time but means be a waiter…as in serve.

    1. Yes Pam! Serving God takes “self” out of the picture and focuses thought outward. By serving God you are serving mankind, and vise versa. Thank you for sharing that.

  8. The current government lockdown can feel like being stuck in a stagnant darkened valley waiting for the fog to lift. But as Mary Baker Eddy says “this seeming vacuum is already filled with divine Love”. It makes me think of her voluntarily withdrawing from society for three years to study the Scriptures in search of the science behind Jesus’ healing works. She describes this period of isolation as an emergence into light,- as beholding with “ineffable awe” the Master’s purpose,- ” being led into a new world of light”. As Evan says, it is spiritual mindedness that opens consciousness to God’s abundance. Thank you Evan.

    1. WOW !! Thanks for sharing these articles: such treasures -clarifying our confidence is inevitable in realizing all Good -as we abide by the law of God, right here in the Kingdom of Heaven, where we’re so tenderly cared for by our Shepherd, guiding spiritual consciousness to full fruition.
(I’m so grateful for these and all inputs from our Spirit View family)

  9. Wow, such a calming and uplifting foto, Evan, thank you!
And thank you so much to bring us God and the Good and Love He is and has for us right into our heart. And the best is we need not wait rather can have right away what we need spiritually. So I understand you, Evan and Christian Science. Thank you so very much for your daily uplifting, blessing and healing spiritual views! ☆☆☆

  10. You are right Evan, my good is here now, everywhere, surrounding and filling me, and the same is true for everyone. How wonderful to be reminded of this. I needed to hear it. I have been feeling like my life is on hold, waiting for things to change out there in “the world,” and feeling like I am not able to contribute to spreading good as I had in the past due to current restrictions. But I see this is not so, I have been looking at the mortal picture, the false picture. I can see through this lie to the truth that God is ever active NOW, in me and through me. I just need to keep looking higher. Thank you all!

  11. This Moment of Your Living

You’re alive—not merely existing. You are: you’re not trying to be. You are the Life of the
    moment—this moment of your Life-living.

    NOT YOU REMEMBERING

Not you as an amalgam of happenings, you-as-you-were a decade, a moment, ago: to ask What was I? is to be blind to the fact of Presence. Man is not a chronology. Not you as a mosaic of hopes and fears: to ask What will I be? is to stop discovering. Not you content with a status quo: a cup of years spilling some satisfaction over the hour. Not even you-as-you-becoming—

    BUT YOU BEING

You spiritually. You in the action of being you where being is the emanation of I AM. “I AM hath sent me unto you.” Being, God, impels man, breathes through him Love’s incentives, Love’s own experience. Soul’s expression now you go as His fragrance in every place: this is your felt unity with Him. Moment by moment

    YOU TIMELESSLY

Not you in the moment. But this moment of you—radiantly, immaculately. Knowing is being—infinitely. Mind’s Allness, Mind’s Oneness never stops being known. As God-idea, one infinite indivisible idea dwelling in God’s thought, you are instantly understood, always being known. You have Soul’s mobility within this hourless knowing: the pristine movement fulfilling the Mover without end, as beauty in the unspoken, as rhythm in what is still.

    DISCOVERING

To ask Who am I? is to be irrelevant. To ask What am I? is to be blind to substance, to the is-ness of Spirit that is what and where you are. Man is what God is knowing of Himself—Love’s pure idea birthlessly real. Beautifully. Brilliantly. Preciously. Agelessly. Mightily. Deathlessly. You are what you are because I AM THAT I AM. Now. Moment by moment by moment by moment

In 1958 he moved to the United States, where he taught English at several U.S. colleges and later was arts critic for the Monitor, while remaining a British citizen. In 1970 he moved to Canada, where he became a dual citizen (Canadian and British). In Canada he also became a Christian Science teacher, and served briefly on the Board of Lectureship.)
