The virtue of gratitude

Gratitude is such an important healing quality to possess because it opens thought to the presence of God’s healing truth. It’s like a flower opening its petals wide to the bright sun and saying,
“Shine all over me. I love to soak in all your light and warmth.”

Be grateful today! It opens your thought to the healing presence of God which can bless you beyond anything you presently imagine.

Oh thank you Evan, that you reminds us of the immense value of Gratitude, to be grateful for evereything good, that comes from God. So says this weeks`s lesson.
We can also be grateful what the “Golden Text” says: “You are much loved…” – namely by God!

I admit that sometimes I must remind myself, to be more grateful for the richness of good, God bestowed on me.

In the beginning of being a Christian Scientist I thought, I am not grateful enough. But the angel thought came, “oh yes, because you as God`s child express this precious divine quality Gratitude, you can be grateful”.

Most grateful I am for Christian Science, that God brought me to it and that I do understand it more and more – thank you dear God!

Thank you Evan. I had thought about this aspect of Jesus’ life many times. As healing is tied to virtue and virtue to love, kindness, humility, compassion, patience, meekness, holding firm in faith of a one supreme infinite God who is all good and the only source for the wisdom of Soul as a law that demands we love our neighbor as ourselves giving insight to the beauty of creation itself. We are all connected through the Spirit of Christ which is present throughout all generations.

I once had heart heart trouble which we had been working on with Chrisrian Science for over three years to resolve. One day I was having a particularly bad attack and made it to my teacher’s house. She didn’t know what to do at first, so we spend a few moments praying and then she came up with the inspiration to share gratitude. She would share something she was grateful for in her life and then I would share something I was grateful for in my life and back and forth for about an hour. I was completely healed and never had another reoccurrence with heart trouble. That was in the 1970s and I have led a very active life to this day.

Thank you for sharing that Loren. I have been working with a long standing situation, so this is food for thought…to express more gratitude.
And thank you Evan for this daily sharing that you so lovingly offer us.

Thanks, Evan, and all who have shared their experiences and thoughts. How important it is to remember that Jesus always expressed gratitude before healing and raising the dead. He didn’t wait for the evidence of perfection to appear and neither should we. This is the day the Lord hath made, be glad, give thanks, rejoice!

Beautifully true Evan and apropos. At first, yesterday evening, heretofore unbeknown to my wife and me, flowers opened beautiful petals to the sunlight of Truth’s own glory. Kindly neighbors had planted their gift of thoughtful kindness and generosity. My wife and I are so very much blessed by such deeds.
