  2. I don’t know about being a hard master to yourself. I think we should be as gentle with ourselves as we are with others. God is no respecter of persons as we know and if we truly love our neighbor as ourselves we can accept no excuses and no pity and at the same time be merciful to both.

I understand the spirit of this but I would translate it as ceaseless prayer, being single eyed, and not allowing anything but the truth to reside in your consciousness. by judging others for falling short of who they really are only confirms mortal mind of being something with power. I try to see myself and others just temporarily hypnotized by the false sense.
    I like the phrase ‘when error speaks, nothing is said”.
