Wisdom is better than weapons of war.
If you’re ever tempted to “go to battle” with a co-worker, neighbor, or family member, on an issue you feel is important to resolve, use wisdom for the best outcome.
Wisdom is the intelligence of God that sees possibilities for progress, opportunities to work together, common ground on which to build.
Wisdom is the love of God in action. It brings about good results.
To the contrary, avoid employing weapons of destruction, such hatred, anger, intimidation, fear-tactics, self-will, self-righteousness, and arrogance. Shut those harmful attitudes of the carnal mind down and let the wisdom of divine Mind lead the way. You’ll be much happier with the outcome.
What a helpful reminder! Just what I needed for today (and probably every day to follow).
Thank you very much, Evan
Thanks for the reminder, Evan!
I think you meant to say “such AS hatred …”
Thank you Evan.
Thanks Evan:
Thanks be to God,our Divine Father-Mother who is always directing us to follow in His example.
Thank you Evan. This is so important to adhere to in situations that appear to be personal attacks. It can seem difficult to not take things personally but when we apply the wisdom of God the outcome will likely be harmonious for all.
Thanky you, Evan. There simply is no better advice than that.
I agree, Josef; Evan is right on this precious topic, and it is o so essential to be patient with a patient God to save
Challenging situations!
Thank you all!
Question: MBE wrote, ‘I have but two cheeks to turn.’ So, I’m wondering if, when all efforts to heal have been applied, but corrections are still needed and harm persists, does a Christian Scientist ever see loving motive in use of legal means to bring about justice?
I believe it is, dear Amy Joy .. If we have tried routes of wisdom in other ways,
I think sometimes legal means is justified and helps to progress us further
into spiritual means. For example, there have been many writers in the
periodicals who have gone through divorce. Mrs. Eddy, herself, had many
struggles in her life, “mortally”, and her end result was the culmination of
her greatest thoughts and healings into the divinity of the Christ, thus paving
the way for we, all, to follow … and what a marvelous pathway that is.
Thank you, Carol. I truly appreciate your response. I have been struggling to understand this for some time. Your response brings more clarity of thought for me.
I am so glad you found it helpful, Amy. I know we are not supposed
to “influence or be influenced” and each circumstance is unique and
we have to listen for God’s guidance. From personal experience
years ago, a very trying time, prompted me to listen for that “still,
small voice” and I am very glad that I did. It was not easy, but worth
the challenges at the time and am very grateful for the thoughts of CS
that helped me very much in seeing God’s direction. Love to you.
Mary Baker Eddy also dealt with several court cases as a defendant and prosecutor. She addressed them prayerfully, calmly and respectfully.
Thank you for the reminder to be “Minute Men (or Women) to the ‘weapons of warfare’ that slither in so sneakily, so quickly, and destroy… the other person, and the peace in your soul.
Good example for Amy Joy, Carol.
We can trust everything to God’s perfect outcome, for God is our Judge – He is our lawmaker,
and Truth is always victorious. I think it is in one of our hymns –
“O side with God and win”. Sometimes we have to wait a while
to see the perfect outcome, but God’s perfect Law always aims to bless
everyone involved. What a wonderful Law – it is wise to observe
it and let God do His work, and reveal it to us in His own way. It is
important for us not to judge, but to do our best to keep calm and
loving and trusting in God.
Yes, divine Mind’s wondrous wisdom…Wisdom, Itself! always present, always loving, caring, guiding, correcting, consoling with infinite patience and love…all our footsteps in the Right Paths out of false beliefs and confusion!

Thank you so much for sharing those articles, J . I will be watching the online
Christmas Eve service and very much look forward to it’s comforting, peaceful
message. How lovely to be a part of such calming, true Christ-like inspiration
with others of kindred spirits in such a delightful way. It is a very special time
of the year and can’t think of a better way to share such thoughts of love that
night, as those shared on that site. A perfect way to bring the loveliness of
