This approach definitely works! Wayne Dyer wrote a fantastic book titled “Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life” which is very much saying the same thing and it has been extremely popular. I know he knew about Christian Science. In fact, many years ago, he gave a talk at an American Christian Science church. Even though our churches are closing or diminishing all over the place, we know that the ideas in Science and Health have been taken on by many people all over the world–at least partly. Truth has no adversary. It always finds a way to ripple out through the universe.
AMEN!
Thanks Diane, interesting to hear that Wayne Dyer gave a talk at a Christian Science church, so he probably studied it to some degree. I’m not surprised. I used to read a lot of his books, one was titled, ‘There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem.’ He said that every problem that we “think” we have is a mistake or an illusion and comes from believing we are separate from our Source.
You’re so right that Mrs. Eddy’s ideas and the truths she put forth — so fresh and new compared to what was out there in her time — can be seen in many forms throughout society if we look closely. It’s interesting to see the reach her teachings have had. Many studied her and then went off and changed/diluted things, added things, subtracted things etc., and others probably don’t even realize where these truths originally came from. I prefer to stick with the pure, authentic CS.
Yes! And change what you feel…

I’m very happy to hear this Claire, thanks for sharing! Progress is a Law of God.
I found this article (Progress is the Law of God, 1944, CS Journal) it is not fully readable without subscription, perhaps someone can provide it.

Dear Evan,
I love this gentle reminder to truly “see” what it is that we need to see! Along with standing porter at the door of thought, we not only need to refute wrong ideas from taking up residence in our thoughts, but also see the right ideas!
Hugs ❤️

Was feeling a bit down this morning, taking in the woes of the world and
being dragged down by mortal mind’s pull/tug of persuasion, but the inspiration
here of changing your/our view of things – is so helpful. Thanks Evan and I love
Hymn #139 – – Thank You, Patty in TN. That helped change my “attitude”
and viewpoint of disturbing images that try to beset our peaceful presence
and being spiritually with God/Love’s presence.
Thank you, Evan. “Our Without is Our Within, by Paul Stark Seeley from the February 24, 1945 CS Sentinel:

There is a writing called “The Secret” that has been in circulation and has been attributed to Edward Kimball, although I do not really know its source. It contains the following in part:
“I make this resolution every morning when I first open my eyes, and review it every hour of the day. I see perfection – a perfect cause and a perfect effect, perfect God, and perfect man, and I refuse to make any kind of exception – I refuse to admit the slightest imperfection in myself, in my friends, in my so-called enemies, in my affairs, in the affairs of the world. I take a radical stand for the perfection of God, and everything and everyone that He has made. I look upon the world with God’s eyes and see it as He sees it. I refuse to see it in any other way. I stop a dozen times a day to renew the resolve and to make sure I am not repeating error, giving way to fear and criticism. I watch my thought even about people – the lame, the old, the unlovely (to sense) – that I pass; and stray animals. I have taken my radical stand for the perfection of all things, and will not, absolutely not, release the perfect standard….The outward conditions are pictures of our inward thinking. To change the picture, one must change the thought that produces the picture.”
Excellent articles and quote Cheryl! Thank you for sharing them!
Oh, Cheryl, how pure in heart and what a wonderfully peaceful world
it would be if everyone did what you copied from Edward Kimball’s “Secret” !!
It is very honorable and inspiring and lovely to read. Putting it into practice
may be a bit more of a challenge, but something worthy to aspire to. Thank you
for sharing it, along with the articles you shared. I especially liked the prayer
during the night mentioned in the one article. Had never thought of it that way,
but how powerful and profound. The caged bear analogy was interesting, too.
I had heard of fish in an aquarium with a glass partition doing the same thing,
when the partition was taken away. How we need to always be looking through
the correct perspective. Also loved the birds being in our heart to be manifested
also in our garden. Thank you so much, Cheryl, Evan and all.

I believe the article on the “ perfection” was written by Irving C. Tomlinson, CSB. A faithful worker in Mrs. Eddy’s household.
O yess dear Evan. thank you very much, Truth gives us the best view – in any case. .So it’s always the very best and I’m happy we can prayerfully view everything from Truth in the first place. Often it needs my prayer and listening to God’s safe and loving guidance.
Thank you all so much for your lovely inspirations! And thank you very much indeed, dear J for the really helpful article by Eise Moore “United in Prayer”. The other articles here today I still have to read.
Am very grateful for the wonderfully comforting and healing SpiritView Blog!
With much Love to all ❤️
