Thanks Evan for this lovely reminder.. Listening is certainly very important. It’s an art. A good listener needs to be patient, kind and attentive. A good listener learns a lot and is also supposed to be an expert in “Communication Skills”. Listening well enables him to learn a lot, increase his knowledge and make good progress.
A patient listener also proves to be a comfort to those who wish to share their problems. Because when we are hassled and troubled we look for a friend who gives a “Patient Listening.” Its proved to be therapeutic.
If there is a conversation going on in the mind of the listener and he/she is not attentive to the person who is speaking, the listener will stand to lose on certain important information conveyed, and the speaker’s time and effort also goes to waste. Its said that “Listening is done with our heart and concentration” whereas “Hearing is done only with our ears and very often concentration goes for a toss”.
A very talkative person seldom makes a “good listener” Its said about them ” Empty vessels make the most noise.”
So well said “Listen or thy tongue will keep thee deaf.”
Since God is the only Speaker, we, His expression, can, and do, only listen to Him. All the good we hear is of God. If we seem to hear evil, error, it is not of God, therefore it was never spoken.
Wonderful quote Evan… thanks

Thank you Evan for this SV – I did not get it on 30 th March, but saw it only today –
thank you Nergish, so very good what you said and
thank you Kathleen – I love what you said.
I myself must and want to learn to listen more. That also is Love if you listen
thoroughly to your conversation partner.
Am grateful for everything I learn through Christian Science. 😉
