Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

Perfect timing ! Thank you
Thank you Evan.
Yes, anger has been trying to override love in my life for a long time now. I need to take serious the effect it tries to have on me and pray to simply not allow it. I love a restful sleep too much.
thank you for this post. Anger gives a foothold to the devil.
Thank you for this great quote, dear Evan. I have heard similar to it before, but never
realized it was from the Bible.
A few more thoughts that I have come across..
“For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind”.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
“When I rise up, let me rise up joyful, like a bird …
When I fall, [rest for the night] let me fall without regret, like a leaf” – Wendell Berry
“All day, every day [and night]
When you realize that the whole world is a reflection of your state and
thinking … You realize that no one is bothering you – it’s you fighting
with yourself”
Thank you for the helpful quotes, Carol. I especially like the one by Wendell Berry.
I would love to wake up joyful as a bird.
These are great quotes, thanks Carol!
Sometimes we stay awake because the same thoughts keep badgering us. When a friend was having persistent unwanted thoughts, her practitioner told her about a radio program during World War II that ended with the announcer saying to the audience, “God bless you. Over and out.” My friend started sayiing that to her persistent thoughts, and it helped. All was well.
Cathe thanks for sharing that, nice and simple, God is blessing us all. Over and out. Over and out means that’s the end of the show, signing off, so thoughts can sign off too and be silent.
Also thinking of Psalms 4:8 “In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.”
I think of the King James’ version of this quotation from Ephesians: “Let not the
sun go down on your wrath” ) if I have an occasional disagreement in the evening
with a near and dear one. I ask myself how would I feel if I went to bed with this
disagreeable thought in my head. Not only would I find it difficult to rest, as it would
keep playing over and over in my thought, but more importantly, just supposing something happened to this dear one before we could resolve the problem. This sounds dramatic,
but it would be heart-breaking to have the last thought of them in such a way. Much better to address the problem through the teachings of Christ Jesus, and humbly and lovingly be the first to resolve the problem, knowing that it is just animal magnetism’s suggestions, and powerless to cause any animosity. “Love is the liberator” always.
Yess, dear Maggie, wonderful Love, Love, love is the Liberator and the Victor! ❤️
Thank you dear Evan. There was a time when I struggled with wrong thoughts about my friends. And as it troubled me comming to sleep sometimes, I prayed to my Father-Mother God to heal this situation with christly loving thoughts.
And I am still greatful that good thoughts came from God healing the matter.
We have a hymn saying: God knows the angels which you need and sends them to your side …
Thanks for the links to the wonderfully healing articles and for all your helpful inspirations! ❤️
Thank you, Maggie, for sharing that story. I agree we have to resolve the disagreement as soon as possible; otherwise
Evil thoughts can take advantage on our precious
Spiritual progress.

Thank you Cheryl, so helpful and appreciated!
Cute cozy picture Evan, no anger there. I saw a TV commercial this morning advertising a sleep supplement. (As an aside, the spokesperson on the commercial was a former minister and presidential candidate). He was talking about how this supplement calms his mind and helps him get a good night’s sleep and was all natural, herbal. They were even giving away a free introductory bottle. I could see the lure of mortal mind and how people will find this tempting and compelling, but it still wrongly assumes the problem to be physical/material, needing a material remedy to be put into a material body. We can do so much better, (and save a lot of money) by turning to God for our best rest and peace and sleep, in Him.
Yes, dear Rose that’s true; one saves a lot of money if we solely turn to God for our healing. Not only that but we are more rich with God. I always say that we are the rich children of an overrich Father-Mother God who cares lovingly for us.
Here it’s sleeping time and Divine Love is wrapping us in peaceful rest. ❤️
