Be a successful Christian Scientist first

Many people misunderstand Christian Science. Some think it’s a religious denomination, like being a Baptist, a Mormon, or Catholic. Others see it as an alternative healing method, like acupuncture, homeopathy, meditation, or massage.
It’s none of these.
Christian Science is a term used to identify the laws of God at work throughout the universe.
It’s like the laws of music or mathematics. These laws are not choices people make to make them real or not. They are realities waiting to be understood and practiced.
Christian Science explains how God governs the universe spiritually. God’s laws aren’t subject to human approval or consent. They just are. They are unchangeable fixed realities available to understand and practice.
When this truth is understood, it affects priorities and goals.
For instance, which is more important: to be a successful mother or a successful Christian Scientist?
Which is more important: to be a successful wage-earner or to be a successful practicing Christian Scientist?
It’s the latter.
One cannot be a successful mother without learning love. And learning love comes from practicing Christian Science, the laws of Love.
One cannot be a successful businessman without practicing integrity, wisdom, intelligence, foresight and insight. These are all the outcome of God’s laws in operation, understood and practiced.
God’s laws support all progressive and worthwhile outcomes.
So, to be successful in life, it’s most important to be successful in living God’s laws first. And that’s what Christian Science is all about, living the laws of Life, Truth and Love.
So, above all, strive to be a successful Christian Scientist, and success in whatever else God leads you to do will follow.

  1. Evan I am most grateful for your generosity in writing these marvelous blogs with such frequency. They uplift, inspire and inform. Thanks a million!

  2. Dear Evan; You are the very first one that wrote as above and I quote; “Many people misunderstand C/S. Some think it’s a religious denomination—————-It’s none of these.” I thought that I was the only one that felt that C/S is strictly a science, not a religious denomination. I also thought that if God was accepted as a scientific fact, like the laws of Gravity, more people would accept C/S.

  3. Thanks for explaining it Evan. Years before I heard that Christian Science is not a religious denomination. It is The First Church of Christ, Scientist which is the denomination that practices Christian Science.
