“What day is it?” asked Pooh.

“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.

“My favorite day,” said Pooh.

  1. Delightful Evan ! Great quote , Thank you….SV encourages us to focus rightly. This bible verse came to me immediately and overcomes all material barriers…

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118 )
    Blessings to everyone❣️

  2. Haha – thank you, Evan, so lovely. Everyday is my favorite day, as given us graciously from our Father-Mother God. Part of hymn 342: “This is the day the Lord hath made – be glad, give thanks, rejoice. …”
Happy Day to all with Love!

    1. Wow, Barbara and I have the same hymn matching to today`s topic in mind. That prooves that the one intelligent Mind is working in us all – providing us all with the right diving ideas! Wonderful! 🙂

    2. That’s a favorite hymn Uta. Thank you so much for including it, as it’s a wonderful way to start the day. Deborah Packer, a CS practitioner, mentioned in one of her lectures to say upon waking/going to sleep, “I am spiritual, I am perfect, I am eternal.” 🙂

  3. ha ha ha , love those stories by A A Milne. When I was a kid, my friends and I acted out Winnie the Pooh in our neighborhood backyard. one day a bigger brother said “I want to play” and there were no more roles left. So he offered to be a cow!
    GOD is Good.

    1. Rhondda – that’s charming. It would have been fun to see how you all acted that our with those characters. When I was with my sister-in-law at Disneyworld she said she rode down the elevator with Tigger, Sylvester Stallone and her infant daughter at the Disney hotel we were staying at.

  4. “On awakening, bless this day, for it is already full of unseen good which your blessings will call forth; for to bless is to acknowledge the unlimited good that is embedded in the very texture of the universe and awaiting each and all.” Pierre Pradervand from The Gentle Art of Blessing text
Thanks, Evan, it is so important to start our days knowing that “to those leaning on the sustaining Infinite, today is big with blessings!”

    1. Manuela, what a beautiful reminder, thank you.
Love Pierre and his clear understanding.
Much love to you and your family!

  5. So very sweet and right on! I found a little cartoon with Winnie and Piglet together next to a log. Tried adding it to this blog but not successful. Can it be done?
Anyway, thank you Evan for this morning’s inspiration. You are amazing! Love all the comments shared so far this morning. Today is big with blessing!

  6. Thank you Evan, so so true. Reminds me of a time I asked my Dad, “who was your favorite dog out of the many pets we had over the years?” Without missing a beat, he answered “ the one we have right now!” Happy day❤️

  7. A delightful quote today – so sweet! As a child I loved Winnie the Pooh and
his pal characters. Still love the classic, original drawings in childhood books.
So simple and pure and adorable in their nature.
Today’s message brings me back to when my Mom used to always say, “This is
the day the Lord hath made .. be glad, give thanks, rejoice” … It was special way
back then, but takes on a whole new meaning, today.

  8. In my journal of quotes, I have one from A.A. Milne that says, “Weeds
are flowers, too, once you get to know them”. So many so-called “weeds”
really are wild-Flowers, loved by the bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, etc.
A friend had given me a little plaque that says, “May all your weeds be
wildflowers”. It is all in the perspective, isn’t it? God created plants and
us and everything He created was Good. Spirit View is a wonderful way of
seeing the world in it’s spiritual perspective. Another quote from Author Unknown:
“But a weed is simply a plant that wants to grow where people want something
else. In blaming nature, people mistake the culprit. Weeds are people’s idea,
    not nature’s”.

  9. Hope you can find this beautiful poem by Peter J. Henniker-Heaton. I don’t know how to “import” it.
Divine Contentment Heals—— begins:This is God’s day:I do not wish it to be any other day or time.

    Enjoy!!!

    1. Divine Contentment Heals
      PETER J. HENNIKER-HEATON
From the February 1953 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This is God’s day; I do not wish it
To be any other day or time.
This is God’s place; I do not want it
To be any other place. I am
      About my Father’s business now and always;
I do not long for any other employ.
This is God’s presence; His company is sufficient
      Fully to satisfy.

Here is God’s holiness; no further wholeness
      Can man require.
Under His laws we live; no wiser government
      Can man desire.
      Man is complete and perfect in God’s own likeness;
Man does not yearn for a different nature or name.
Such are the facts that spiritually acknowledged
Compel all human evidence to conform.

Such are the facts that morning by morning welcomed,
      Uphold, direct, inspire
Our every footstep and will safely bring us
      Through wilderness or fire.
Such are the Christly facts that daily held to
      Evangelize, redeem
All human thinking, till signs of healing follow.
In such divine contentment is heaven and home.

  10. This charming quote from Winnie the Pooh turns our thought toward the joy of the present moment, the only moment there is, the God-filled NOW. Thank you Evan, delightful to be reminded that our spiritual inspiration can come from anywhere, including the innocence of a classic children’s book.

  11. An interesting footnote to postings regarding Peter Henniker-Heaton. While J was sending the article, I was figuring out how to send the poem. ONE MIND, INDEED!!!

  12. This is Lovely, Even – and all the lovely comments I love.

When I was a child, I had a book of Pooh songs -set to music, and I used to play
and sing them to myself. I loved them – and still do. One of them one can inspire
us spiritually also – thinking of “the great red dragon” and how to deal with it – just like Pooh
and Twiglet. Here are some of the verses.:

“Let’s look for dragons,” I said to Pooh.
“Yes, let’s,” said Pooh to Me.
We crossed the river and found a few-
“Yes, those are dragons all right,” said Pooh.
“As soon as I saw their beaks I knew.
That’s what they are,” said Pooh, said he.
“That’s what they are,” said Pooh.

“Let’s frighten the dragons,” I said to Pooh.
“That’s right,” said Pooh to Me.
“I’m not afraid,” I said to Pooh,
And I held his paw and I shouted “Shoo!
Silly old dragons!”- and off they flew.

“I wasn’t afraid,” said Pooh, said he,
    “I’m never afraid with you.”

We can frighten off those old dragon suggestions also,
by fearlessly casting them out, as “silly old dragons”, holding
    onto Christ’s hand.

  13. Oh, thank you, Maggie! That was a perfect message for today. I’m going to cast out any “silly old dragons” and hold onto Christ’s hand.

  14. As always, today’s post is wonderful delightful. I’m so grateful for the loving responses after my post yesterday telling of my sister’s passing and you’re very sweet dear comforting replies thank you all!
And what beautiful messages today, including the Peter Henegar Heaton article and poem. He was certainly tremendous Christian scientist who has helped probably thousands of people with his words.. thank you all for sharing

There’s so much wisdom in the AA Milne books, which ties in perfectly with yesterday’s SpiritView of never being alone:
Is Christopher Robin said to Winnie the Pooh:
“ if there is ever a tomorrow when we are not together, promise me you’ll always remember
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart, I’ll always be with you.”

my love and thanks to you all
