Feeling connected to God

Q:  What can you do when you don’t feel God in your life?
A:  Be grateful for all the evidence of good around you!  And it is prolific.
The influence of atheism on the human consciousness causes some people to doubt God’s presence, to wonder if God even exists.  But when one understands that God is all good, the shadowy influence of faithlessness can be negated and reversed.
There is always something good to be grateful for, and gratitude for it makes you feel closer to its source—to God!
Just look around and honor it.  It could show up in the form of
  •    a pretty flower
  •    a sunny day
  •    rain to make the grass green
  •    a chair to sit in

but even better…
  •    a friend or neighbor who expresses love and kindness
  •    an act of intelligence by you or another
  •    the ability to think
  •    a helping hand in your community
  •    opportunity to grow and progress

All evidence of good at work in your arena of activity is God at work. That’s what God is—all good! And Spirit is its source.
The more one consciously acknowledges and honors the presence and activity of good, the closer to God he or she feels. Genuine gratitude and knowing God often go hand in hand.
Complaint and ingratitude are the opposite of God and sustain the effect of feeling separated from God, good.

  1. Thanks for this post, Evan.
I love the thought presented by the last two sentences.
They hit the nail right on the head for me distill it right down to the basis.

    Thanks again!
