Find the peace of Christmas

December 21, 2011 | 2 comments

It was as if my Father stood in front of me giving me wise instruction. The voice declared resolutely, “If you’re not feeling more peaceful, comforted and rested than ever this year, you aren’t celebrating Christmas.”
Whoa…I had to think about this.
Christmas is too often associated with shopping, merry-making, spending and consuming, giving and getting things. These activities do not always leave us feeling rested and calm. Whereas the true spirit of Christmas is found in the peace that comes from Christ dawning in our thought, inspiring our perspective and healing our lives.
The Christmas story tells us what to expect.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Are you receiving the “peace” of Christ? Are you finding and feeling the “good will toward men?” If so, you are catching the true spirit of Christmas and experiencing its healing power. And the effect is more peace, health and healing in your life.
I love to observe Christmas in quietude, humility, benevolence,
charity, letting good will towards man, eloquent silence,
prayer, and praise express my conception

of Truth’s appearing.
