What is your mental gaze fixed on today? Is it focused on something good? On health, love, truth, on that which is worthy of achieving and living out?
We rise to our ideals. The better the ideal, the higher we rise in experience.
The highest ideal is spiritual reality, “realities supernal,” as Mrs. Eddy writes.
To have the best experience, set your mental sights on all that is good and pure with God. Stay out of mortal mind with all its angst, worry, fear, and other enemies to success, and put on the Mind of Christ. See what God sees. Know what God knows. Rise to a consciousness of spiritual reality. It’s a happy healthy place to be.
Today with elections in the United States and turmoil in many parts of the world it is essential to let spiritual consciousness be our guide. As I read the Old Testament scriptures, I see the struggle to learn that knowing God is our only true priority. Good will ensue as we look to Spirit not material mindedness for our guidance. When we look to God we find love not hate, unselfishness opposed to self-interest, and peace not turmoil. Thank God for the Science of Christianity and its power to transform human lives.
We would not nor could not change God’s plan which is always inclusive, loving & supportive.
I’m standing. first in line to vote at a neighborhood church. My thoughts is on God and how He wants me to vote. I keep in mind that it is already God’s government and our nation and every nations government has to be patterned after the divine government which guides and protects.

This Week’s Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, Adam and Fallen Man, contains many references that are very helpful in praying for which candidates are to be voted for in the various offices, including President of the United States. Within the paragraph on p. 475:7 we read “Man is the idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique. He is the compound idea of God, including all right ideas; the generic term for all that reflects God’s image and likeness; the conscious identity of being as found in Science, in which man is the reflection of God, or Mind, and therefore is eternal; that which has no separate mind from God; that which has not a single quality underived from Deity; that which possessed no life, intelligence, not creative power of his own, but reflects spiritually all that belongs to his Maker. Then, on page 249:5, we read “Let the “male and female” of God’s creating appear.” In other words, gender is an attribute of a candidate, not a qualification. We can be at peace with whatever the outcome of the election is by “letting the perfect model be present in our thoughts instead of its demoralized opposite,” as referenced on p. 407:24. God gives us the ability to self-govern — by listening adroitly to Principle, and acting wisely at all times – in our homes, in our businesses, and in society. This ability is ever with us and we have full access to it at all times. It is our safety.

Grateful for this mental nudge which caused me to reason (and comfort myself) with the fact that reports of fractiousness in the country, between political parties etc. are mm’s reports of its version of “reality” – and that is not God and the kingdom. Thank you Evan

Thank you D.P. The mention of Hymn #82 reminds me of “time” and how
with Day Light Savings Time, I had an experience that was very awakening
to me. I have a “weather” clock in the bedroom, telling the indoor and outdoor
temperatures and also the time, day, month, year, forecast, etc. I had reset
it to the “new” time, but in the morning, discovered it was incorrect and it had
reverted back to the original time. I thought that a bit odd and reset it again.
A while later, I discovered the same thing had happened. When resetting it again,
I realized that there was a teeny icon, that, when activated, had been changing the
“real” time to the false time. Comparing that to what mortal mind – the mortal
senses of sight, hearing, etc. – illusions of what we may seem to be experiencing
in the dream time hour, before awakening to the “reality of the situation,
where we may think this is the real time, until we are awakened to the Truth. If
we stay on what the material device (clock) keeps changing over and over, kind of
like having a mind of it’s own, without trying to “fix” it, we may miss out with a “real”
breakfast with a friend, for instance, because this mortal perception keeps trying to
be real each time we keep pushing the buttons to power through to the correct reality
(image of truth). Without correcting the error that would continually give us the wrong perception , we could go on believing in the false hour, day, month year.

Thank you for all your comments today they were so needed in my journey. The truth is God is All in All, in every avenue of the material life which leads to our true Spiritual Life. We must keep this focus before us.
I am so grateful for all the prayers and Truths being declared today in light of the election. God’s plan is operating and nothing can interfere with it one iota. This is from the address” wonderful things are Happening” by Dorothy Rieke . We know that all things work together for good. God is the only Mind and man is reflecting God’s wisdom, love , purity, and righteousness. Our dear country’s high ideals which are a powerful influence for good in the world are protected and shielded from the attacks of error of every sort. I am mentally putting our country in the ark where it is protected and safe. God alone governs.
This is a perfect topic for today and ties in beautifully with the One Mind of Spirit
being in control of our lives. This One Mind, not only gives us the intelligence to
choose wisely in our elections today (in the US) which is so important in all of our
decisions if we want harmony, unity, peace, freedom to believe in the God of our
choosing, lawfulness, truthfulness, inclusiveness, not division, for the benefit of
everyone, prosperity – in our country, but it also brings these qualities into our
own lives, where the spiritual powers that be, transcend any other powers that
would enslave our thoughts and actions. I looked up the word “supernal” and
of the definitions, are included: “being in or belonging to the heaven of [D]ivine
being; heavenly; celestial or divine. Lofty; of more than earthly or human
excellence, powers, etc.” This would bring the One Mind into reality, where
seeming mortal mind sometimes screams to be.
“Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts.” (SH 261:4) May we all hold fast to the acknowledgment of God’s absolute government—wholly good, unified, all-inclusive, ever-operating to bless and heal. Thank you, Joan and Martine. This is a good article. I like where the author includes,
“An authentic and dependable faith in God’s all-power and understanding of His
spiritual, perfect man, settle into our daily living and we perceive God’s love for His
creation and His perfect government of it – the kingdom of heaven, which Christ Jesus
promised was already within us”. The Christ, (Spirit) or God can not be shown to be
as any image, (not like an old man with a long beard sitting up in the clouds
somewhere or like a fictitious Santa figure), because they are not material. Just as
our beloved loved ones, who have “passed” are not of a human image, as like when
Jesus ascended from human form after the doubting Thomas’. The way I see it, our
emerging into Truth/Spirit, like a dear friend with her mortal body no longer “seen”,
but is now within eternity in her garden, or another, part of the sea – the spiritual is transformed from matter into the divine. To me, this is fixing our gaze on spiritual
reality.
Last week J posted the article “Through a Lens – Cleary” by Janet Clements. (Thank you J!) A single sentence really stood out to me;
“So I saw that my prayer for the dog was not intended to change reality, but rather to bring everyone, including the dog, into conscious harmony with reality.”
I find this applicable to the election, sin, disease, death, etc. Instead of focusing on a material reality, focusing on spiritual reality. And that is what I have been working with.

Hi dear SV friends; it’s very inspiring what you say here today about US election. It causes me to spply several thoughts from some.comments to my German government which needs profound metaphysical treatment. presently. The truththought came that nothing can change God’s utmost harmonlous allincluding government through divine Law which is the only highly intelligent Law expressed by each member of our government, and the harmonious results are already there where needed.
I am very grateful for Christian Science which actually is the healing Christ in action!!
