“Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself. Never pity yourself. Be a hard master to yourself—and be lenient to everybody else.”
I don’t know about being a hard master to yourself. I think we should be as gentle with ourselves as we are with others. God is no respecter of persons as we know and if we truly love our neighbor as ourselves we can accept no excuses and no pity and at the same time be merciful to both.
I understand the spirit of this but I would translate it as ceaseless prayer, being single eyed, and not allowing anything but the truth to reside in your consciousness. by judging others for falling short of who they really are only confirms mortal mind of being something with power. I try to see myself and others just temporarily hypnotized by the false sense.
I like the phrase ‘when error speaks, nothing is said”.
This is great! Thank you.
Words of wisdom.
OK! I will! Actually I am and do, but …well… just gotta do more! :<))
(God is impelling this, huh.)
I enjoy quotes from folks in support of what Christian Science teaches.
Thanks, Evan!
