Find more meaning in your prayer

Here are some thoughts on how to pray with less babble and more meaning that I recorded in a Daily Lift that was aired recently.

“Cut out the babble”

  1. Thank you Evan! I really appreciated this message last Friday – it launched me into a long weekend of self examination and discovery about the importance and power of feeling in healing. I don’t hear the word “emotion” used in Christian Science but long ago a teacher once explained to me that, as a bird needs two wings for balance to achieve flight, we need the balance of male/Father and female/Mother aspects of God – the correct balance of intelligence/Mind and emotion/Love – as the lift and thrust to achieve realization. Head knowledge isn’t enough nor is uncontrolled emotion – for they are just babble.

Would love to hear more about the practical role and importance of feeling in Christian Science!

  2. Great message! I was saying to Mom the other day, I was short on time and didn’t get to read my lesson, but it seemed more important to spend time praying. I’d rather do both, but reaching that calm connection with Divine Love is the most important thing!

  3. Sometimes, after research for healing pertaining to specific thoughts about an issue, I tend to increase the amount of prayer resources which in turn reflect a babbling effect, that is to many, when I need to keep it clear and specific, Thanks for the reminder!
