True success

True success

True success is the gain of substance that can never be taken from you.

It’s the ability to feel wealthy without money.

It’s the ability to love your neighbor when your neighbor doesn’t love you back.

It’s the ability to say a kind word to one who is not kind to you.

It’s the ability to see good when others see bad.

It’s the ability to love another without expecting anything in return.

Success is instant forgiveness to one who has done you wrong.

It’s patience that never wears thin.

Success is spiritual mindedness.

Success is knowing and feeling God’s presence.

Success is a consciousness of Love overflowing with love.

Success is happiness that is not tied to anything material.

Success is knowing one’s worth and value without needing someone else to tell you.

Success is peace of mind.

Success is prayer that heals.

Paul wrote, “…I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us”
Phil. 3:13,14, NLT.

Success is “reaching the end of the race,” where God is recognized as All and evil is understood to be nothing.

Success is not of this world.

Success is spiritual.

Thank you Evan! Some of the definitions of success you have listed today I feel I do better at than others. The two in particular that gave me pause were the following:

    – Success is instant forgiveness to one who has done you wrong.

    – It’s patience that never wears thin.

So I began to wonder…HOW can I master these qualities of instant forgiveness and never ending patience? The “what to do” in life is pretty easy for me to grasp, but the “how to do it” can sometimes be elusive. Fortunately with JSH-Online we now have even more resources available to us than ever before to help answer the “how to do it” questions. While thinking about how to master instant forgiveness and never ending patience I was led to listen to the following podcast from the Christian Science Journal that describes how to love as God loves. It’s 11 minutes long, but it was helpful to me in explaining a deeper way to love that results in healing. Seeing others as God sees them and loving others as God loves them will just naturally result in a greater ability to forgive and be patient with others. So I feel this podcast answered my “how to do it” question.

Yes…Success is not termed in monetary gains, promotions or winning awards only… But Success is the ability to be good under all circumstances… What a lovely post…Success is rising above hatred and reaching out with love and forgiveness..Success is, Returning good for evil.. Success is not of this world, its Spiritual. Success is to love all humanity and see them with God’s eyes of perfection. Success is prayer that heals… Awesome Evan. Deeply obliged.

The ONE All-loving divine Mind, our true Mind, is the Source of “our” success!

Frequent, strong, clear reminders of this momentous fact is essential… are essential, for me, anyway!

Much gratitude to you, Evan, for your reflection of God, our divine Mind. And that of
    All Commenters, too, of course.
(Brian: thank you for directing us to Phil Davis’
Article on Love. Really, really helpful. It is divine Love Itself that “heals!!”)

What a delightful way to start the day, the week and in a nutshell, … to live life! It truly says it all! I love this inspiration and it gives so many things to strive for. It IS what true success is all about. I always love the “bonus” thoughts of the commenters, too. Thank you all and to everyone reading this wonderful blog, have a great day.

Thank You, Evan and Brian! I’m getting that what you are really saying is that we need to make “working out our salvation” our number one priority. Our spiritual growth should be our priority, first and always. To know God and my relationship with Him/Her is the reason I am here. All God wants is for me to know Him/Her. Our so-called material world is so “attention grabbing” sometimes, that we get pulled almost hypnotically into it and make living successfully in matter our goal. I’ve learned some good lessons about getting pulled into the “political fray” and how distracting and disturbing that can be to my own spiritual growth. After talking to a few C.S. Practitioners, I finally realized that in C.S. we don’t get down into “the muck”, but stay above it in the Light of Truth and Love. I’m beginning to see that all the political turmoil we’re experiencing is really a decoy – to keep us from seeing the REAL Solution which is spiritual growth. We are on the threshold of a new wave of spiritual consciousness and this is our opportunity to grow in this direction! Much Love!

I, too, am so happy for your share, Bevi. In tuning in to one Mind, and realizing there is so much that brings us all together rather than what divides us, we each support each other and that blesses our own thinking and lives, those around us, in our community, our country and the entire world. What could be better than such a unifying Love? In recent words of encouragement… ” We are all equal in the eyes of Almighty God… As long as we have faith in each other and trust in God, then there is no goal at all beyond our reach. There is no dream too large, no task too great…” ~ spoken by our President a few days ago.

Hi Evan and Bevi, I agree. I must not get distracted by the world. This makes me think of what Jesus said, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” Matt. 6:19-21 (The King James Version). And from the Weekly Bible Lesson a few weeks ago:
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” Prov. 4:7 (The King James Version).

One simple fact I think we should all remember, as fare as government and politics is concerned, is this important question: By who’s authority did our founding fathers and their families declare their independence from King George III? (Harrison, 2017).

I want to make it clear that just because I have chosen to “stay above the political fray” does not mean that I support the current Administration running America. I have discovered that fighting hate with hate never works and that there is a Higher Way, through handling Animal Magnetism, and knowing that Truth always wins over Error, Good always wins over Evil. It is quite a challenge to learn how to handle animal magnetism, but Christian Science shows us the way. Jesus loved righteousness, but hated iniquity. We don’t hate people, but we do work to overcome impersonal evil.
