I feel my faith, but it is not singing. I am sure it will as the day progresses.

Thank you Evan. Your thought for the day chimes in with a poem I wish to share here.

    BEFORE THE DAWN

    Before the dawn
    the song began!
    Before the sweep of light
    – no matter if it was moments or more –
    this backyard bird
    sang, knowing;
    his melody a harbinger.

    And I thought how
often, only after rewards were given,
    I have sung –
    but how
    faith is a song
    before the dawn.

Thanks so much for your message, Evan and for sharing this poem Shireen. I remember hearing it read aloud on a cassette tape which included Christian Science hymns. Wonderful to think of it again! Thank you!

Am thankful for Evans blog, as it always turns out to be a helpful and healing one. That includes also all the inspiring comments and poems.

Thank you Shireen for sharing that poem. Specially the words “… faith is a song before the dawn” is relevant to the wise sentence of Tagore – so true. 🙂

I can remember working in our family shop with my brother through the night tired to the bone and wondering if we would ever finish and be ready for the next day’s work in time. Just before the break of dawn the answer would come and we would be ready for the work ahead of us. this taught me a valuable lesson that faith is never left without it reward for the sacrifice given through the night. We must sacrifice our reliance on material means to uncover the real means of our support. Thank you Even for this wonderful understanding. And Shireen for the poem

Thank you, Evan for this encouragement to sing … (and soar), like birds, above our challenges of the day. I love the graphic chosen, which reminds me when the night seems the darkest, the stars shine the brightest. In a world that seems so troubled of late, I am thankful for all of these wonderful thoughts shared on this site, that help us all rise above the discord and sing in faith’s harmony.

I only recently ‘discovered’ Rabindranath Tragore (1861-1941) and would like to share one of his poems:
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high,
    Where knowledge is free
and the world has not been broken up into fragments
    By narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out of the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by Thee
    Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father,
    let my country awake.

He was around at the same time as Mrs Eddy – I wonder if they ever met.

Thank you Evan and contributors. A blessed day is dawning. 🙂

“When man is governed by God, the ever-present Mind who understands all things, man knows that with God all things are possible. The only way to this living Truth, which heals the sick, is found in the Science of divine Mind as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus.“

    A Word… a Prayer…
    Something to bring
    awareness into
    the Stillness of
    Inner Sanctum…
    Where the Whispers
    of Divine Wisdom,
    and Love, are
    amplified in the
    echo chamber of
    our Hearts….

    The Word is Love
    and Peace Profound….

    The Prayer is desire
    to know where Truth
    is found….

This goes along with a theme that has been coming to me lately. “You are already there.” We are ALL already perfect, pure, innocent, strong, wise, harmonious, free, healthy, joyous, whole. This is true no matter what state we seem to be in humanly, physical or mental.Thank you Mother-Father God, thank you Evan, and thank you SV family.

I should add that we are already there in spiritual knowledge, no matter how much or little we know in order to progress and heal.

    Be like a bird
    Who halting in its flight
    On a limb so slight
Feels it give way beneath her
    Yet, sings, sings
    Knowing she has wings.

Thank you, thank you for this, Ginny. I know this poem of Victor Hugo in French and German, but did not know it in English. How wonderful!

And thank you for this post of today, Evan. Oh that my faith would sing before the dawn…

Thank you..love all the comments ,too, I think about birds a lot lately because of their high and beautiful views. I notice in reading about Jesus healings…he doesn’t say ‘stay laying on your sick bed or sitting’ …he says..ARISE…Lift up…stretch forth, etc. Love it. I even draw birds on my Bible lesson to remind me. Kathy..S. Calf.

I would like to say “Thank you!” to Brian for providing not one but two links to articles that Marilyn and Lori pointed us to in yesterday’s Spiritview, that are providing another step upward for me. Thank goodness there are computer people who know how to do these things. And thanks to Marilyn and Lori also for pointing them out.

I enjoy working puzzles, too, but not so big. And Evan is right… the closer you get to being done, the faster the pieces fall into place.

Thank you Evan for that sweet question, yet worth to think about, and for the very lovely picture!

My faith could be singing insofar that Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy taught us and proved convincingly that the one great powerful God, who created all very good, is with us today as He was in ancient times, redeeming, comforting and healing.

I trust the Bible, Science and Health and MBE`s other writings, and my faith is singing that we can rely fully on these sources of absolute Truth today, although we have sometimes to be patient to prove this Truth, but it is absolute worth doing so.

The Bible promisses us that God gives everybody faith and understanding (spiritually) – thats for me very comforting and assuring!

Thank you all very much for the poems and very helpful comments!
