The grass courts

March 9, 2012 | 3 comments

It happened! The Perth group found me a tennis player to hit balls with. During a couple of free hours Monday morning, I got to freshen up my tennis game.
I’ve never played on grass courts before. It’s quite different than concrete. The ball doesn’t bounce as high, and often redirects at unpredictable angles because of the uneven surface of the ground.
My competitor was an expert player on grass, and showed me no mercy. But I was happy anyway. We had a grand fun time. It was a fun break from work.
Beautiful grass tennis courts
Yours truly playing on grass for the first time!

  1. Looks fun, Evan.

Say, is that your used-to-be-all-red fly swatter? I see you’re putting it to better use now, hitting tennis balls instead of my brothers. And yours.

    Love,
    Freddie (no, not Fred Perry!)

  2. I love it, and I’m not a tennis player, by any means. You look like you had a grand time — and a new adventure.

It’s very nice to hear about your lecture tour.
