Do you believe in breakdowns? If so, by the end of this blog, you may change your mind…
They come in many forms.
Mechanical…mental…bodily…cars towed into the repair shop, depressed patients on drugs, and bodies going in for surgery are a few types. The belief of “breakdown” seems to run rampant at times.
When this struck me a few days ago, I thought, “Oh my goodness, I must challenge the belief of breakdowns and be sure I don’t accept it as a reality for me or my patients.”
I thought back to the days when I managed anywhere from 5 to 35 workers on the family farm. I could tell you exactly which employees were prone to breakdowns on the equipment and which ones weren’t. I didn’t understand all the metaphysical reasons why at the time, but I was very aware of the fact. A number of the employees I would not allow on the tractors because we’d spend all day fixing up their breakdowns. A few trusted employees got the jobs because they could drive and drive all day long with no breakdowns.
Today, I can see clearly that the difference was the mental makeup of each driver. Some drivers were very conscientious, very careful and thoughtful about their driving habits. Others were not, and the outcome showed.
It seems to me that the same rule applies to all aspects of life. The less we believe breakdowns are acceptable, the fewer we’ll have.
Also, if we accept breakdowns as natural and normal in one part of our life, might we not accept them as inevitable in another part of our life? Mental, physical, bodily, financial, relationships…
Whoa! Breakdowns are not fun…it’s easier to avoid them.
A good first step is to get clearer on the spiritual truth about God’s creation. In God, there are no breakdowns. God’s creation is spiritual, permanent, fixed and perfect. Spirit does not breakdown. Mind does not breakdown. True substance does not breakdown. You, as a child of God, do not break down…ever!
So, no more casual, unwitting or ignorant acceptance of breakdowns…
As the Psalmist wrote:
The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works. (Ps 104:23)
You are the glory of the Lord! And you, your health, soundness of mind, and spiritual riches, endure forever. They do not breakdown.
I know about breakdowns, That is part of my employment/job to go get vehicles going that fail on the side of the road.
But this certainly is a new way , a more enlightening way to view things when they fail.
Just like why did the car fail ?

Thank you so much for this new way to look at break downs. I was talking to a friend last night trying to figure out why I seem to fail at relationships.
