Never give up

I love this short video. It reminds us that when things turn out poorly and against all we’d hoped for, we don’t have to give up. We can still keep going and cross the finish line with dignity.

  1. On Tuesday morning I was looking at some information on Facebook and twitter, and there was a lot of mention about how 70 years ago Auschwitz was liberated by the Soviet Army. I had previously read this week’s Bible Lesson on Love, and how the story of the Good Samaritan resonated with me on being reminded of that anniversary, and particularly the closing of the Bible with
“Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.”

A little bit later I was feeling unwell, I left what I was doing and just went and sat quietly. Nearby was my smart phone, and I looked at my e-mail which connected to the blog. I watched it. At that point I realised any problem I had, had, was no more. It had gone.
It was another example to me of God’s loving care for not just me, but others who are still seeking to end injustice and discrimination.
Mrs Eddy says in Science and Health 547:1-3
    A simple statement of Chris-
tian Science, if demonstrated by healing, contains the
3 proof of all here said of Christian Science.

  2. Evan – thank you so much for all you do for us. This is exactly what I need this morning. We just need to stay with God and let His good purpose unfold in our experience. He loves us and protects us and moves us forward.

  3. Yes yes, I don’t know how to thank you for shared this video, it very espiring. When you are determined to do thing and if you hope in GOD, you must be sure that help is at any moment. Without hurt, the gay seen that Father is at anywhere.
    God bless.

  4. As a former athlete I know too well what that feels like, but that he kept going after all was lost speaks volumes about his character. His father breaking through to aid him brought a wellspring of tears to my eyes. Thanks, Evan, for sharing this with us!

  5. That was so inspiring and touching, Evan. It brought tears to my eyes, also. Josh Groban’s
expression in the song playing is also wonderfully touching. What a lovely way to start the day…So uplifting!
    Thank you!

  6. I can’t begin to express my gratitude for all you share with us Evan…..and how grateful I am for all the other contributors. When faced with a tough challenge, that sometimes doesn’t seem to yield, we can be assured of God’s everpresent care and the victory that comes as we turn fully and totally Spiritward. Your demonstration over a mobility issue, noted in yesterday’s message, was extremely helpful to me, and today’s video is another powerful example of the triumph of Spirit over the erroneous suggestion of any belief of matter. Blessings to all.

  7. Ok, Evan! Again your blog had me crying tears of joy – yes, joy – to see the character of the athlete and the determined, tender love of his father – and their FATHER right there with them.
God is right there with us all, all the time and we know this when WE are willing to lean on Him just as the athlete was willing to lean on his dad. I love it. Thank you!! Patty

  8. I have never commented before but just have to on this one! After wiping tears away, I THANK YOU so much for sharing this inspiring video and all the many others you have shared!

  9. Yes , thanks for sharing that wonderful video. It was very touching. I often like to speak of feeling that I am in fathoomless billows of God’s Infinite Love. That is what I felt all over that stadium soooooooo much Love from one and from all. You just felt God’s Love embracing everyone.

  10. Mrs Eddy tells us in Science & Health how easy it is to understand Christian Science. But when you see all the evils going on in this world plus children getting diseases and people of color being beaten up, one is bound to give up the study and application of demonstrating God’s power to amealiate and rid the world of all this strife.
BUT WHAT THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND is the chemicalization, bringing all this evil up for all this evil to be destroyed and destroyed they will be if people don’t give up on their demonstrations. This, now, more than ever, is not the time to give up for WE ARE WINNING!

  11. All the above comments speak volumes. Thank you Evan for all the wonderful posts. They give us all so much to think about, and pray about. With God “getting our back”, as the expression goes, we are all winners. You are a wonderful teacher, and a wonderful friend.

    Hugs, Suzanne
