Spiritual ideas that inspire healing
We will be led to do things right, when we are listening for God’s guidance. “I will listen for thy voice” from MBE’s hymn “lest my footsteps stray….”
The best way to know if we are “doing what’s right” is to notice where “our” thought is focused at any given moment. If it’s focused on a spiritual idea, if we are thinking about God or His Truth in some way, we are doing what’s right. When thought seems to stray )as it often does) we can return to what is right. Great day to all.
Thank you, Evan, for this lovely guidance of doing what is right. We can not be doing
wrong and right at the same time. Thank you, Jan and Rose, for your thoughts, which
reminds me of Hymn # 139:
“I walk with Love along the way, And O, it is a holy day;
No more I suffer cruel fear, I feel God’s presence with me here;
The joy that none can take away Is mine; I walk with Love today.
Who walks with Love along the way, Shall talk with Love and Love obey;
God’s healing truth is free to all, Our Father answers every call;
‘Tis He dispels the clouds of gray That all may walk with Love today.

This hymn tells me where to keep my thoughts – to do everything
for the glory of God – and then I can differentiate between what is right
and what is wrong, and choose that which is right.

God’s glory is a wondrous thing,

O blest is he to whom is given
The instinct that can tell
That God is on the field, although
He seems invisible.
And blest is he who can divine
Where right doth really lie,

To doubt would be disloyalty,
To falter would be sin.

Just what I needed to be reminded of today! 🙂
I find when I hear that”still, small voice” I am being led to always do right.
I took this also to mean that when you aren’t sure if you are doing something correctly, instead of worrying about it, concentrate on any good or correct idea you may have.

Thank you J for posting the above article “Right Answers–Here and Now”, and also for yesterday’s powerful article by Barbara Vining, -which brought clarity, fresh impetus, and conviction to my prayers,- breaking the mesmerism of a suffering material consciousness separate from God. Also, so love the comforting quote that came to you this morning.

[our] voice, and refuse to act out the part of a discouraged, downtrodden mortal.
Loyalty to Truth and expectancy of good assure that we do it”.
Recently, while running errands, these similarly wonderful thoughts were demonstrated.
There was one particular person in one of my errands that always seemed to be a bit rude, unprofessional, sad and always seemed to be downtrodden in her job. I have continued
to see her in the light of God’s child – reflecting Love and always being cheerful to her.
The past few times she has been reflecting the kindness and there were no other customers
she needed to help this most recent time (and she initiated) and we had a very joyous conversation, exchanging uplifting thoughts about our gardens. It was great. Also, in a
drive-through, where I had gotten a drink, that often seems to have grumpy folks, a
wonderfully happy employee even drew, what she called her “artistic side” on the side of
my cup with a happy face, flower and heart. It was so sweet and we both experienced
God’s Lovingkindness in such a simple gesture. Love reflected in Love.
I have just been listening to a wonderful talk by Alan Young called ‘Can you simply Trust?’
If you’re interested you can find it on u-tube…Slanus Greenstreet. It has been posted very recently. There are a few ads to skip but it’s so full of spiritual truths so easily and helpfully explained.
