  1. This says to me

    LET GO, AND LET GOD

    HTMN 134
I look to Thee in every need, / And never look in vain; / I feel Thy touch, eternal Love, / And all is well again: / The thought of Thee is mightier far / Than sin and pain and sorrow are.

Thy calmness bends serene above, / My restlessness to still; / Around me flows Thy quickening life / To nerve my faltering will: / Thy presence fills my solitude; / Thy providence turns all to good.

Embosomed deep in Thy dear love, / Held in Thy law, I stand: / Thy hand in all things I behold, / And all things in Thy hand. / Thou leadest me by unsought ways, / Thou turn’st my mourning into praise.

    1. Thanks Maggie, I love the line “Thy hand in all things I behold, And all things in thy hand.” I often think of this line when praying, and yielding to Truth. It helps us remember to be humble and trust God in all things and to understand that we are not the “doer” but the observer, the noticer, the vessel, the vehicle through which God unfolds His good. I didn’t remember that the line was from this Hymn so appreciate knowing the source.

So grateful for all of you and the wisdom, resources and Love shared here.

  2. Thank you Evan. A few words saying a great deal. !
Some times just a very small thing helps swing our thought from a material concept to a spiritual base. A smile or a gesture from an unexpected source can remind us of Gods ever present Love.
Thanks Maggie for the hymn …very supportive of todays message.
I look forward to many more comments here over the weekend…❣️

    1. Thank you very much, dear J, for Judith Hardy Olson’s very helpful article. It warmed my heart by the Love of God to us all! It is such a wonderful and great testimony of the author showing us how real and more deep prayer and listening to our Father-Mother God results in healing! ❤️

  4. You can’t know how perfect this is today, Evan! I realized I’ve been looking over my own shoulder all my life, seeing if I’ve done right, sure that I haven’t. And happiness? How dare I be skipping down the lane? What about others? How can I be happy if they’re suffering? I realize this is all error that has kept me from enjoying God’s good. And that if I am happy, that helps others. And that I don’t have to trust to that voice in my head, mortal mind, or anyone else’s voiced thoughts on this, to help me figure it out. The God mind will help me balance, so I don’t have to worry I’m too happy or neglecting others. He provides an inward compass for us all, if we are still, and listen.

Ps In the picture, it looked like Jesus was sitting in mid -air. I enlarged it and realized it was someone suspended in a chair. Lol. Thank you!

    1. I get what you’re saying Angela, mortal mind is sneaky and even tries to use something natural to us like our inherent state of happiness/contentment/joy to try to make us feel guilty – as you said, “how can I be happy when people are suffering.” But you’re right that if we allow ourselves to experience our innate happiness it does spread and helps others. Joy is contagious. Also agree that if we are still, and listen for His guidance, God shows us the right balance.

The happiness we’re talking about is not the worldly kind, that comes from self-seeking, amassing material things, power, “success” etc, but the true happiness of learning about spiritual reality, seeing with spiritual sense, learning about who and what we really are — all the things we share about here on SpiritView.

  5. Am loving this feeling of levitating above the type of thinking that would try to
weigh us down to mortal thinking. In looking up the definition of levitate, it is,
“to soar up, rise and hover in the air, especially by means of supernatural or
magical power”. Jesus gave us an example of a power (of God’s omnipresence)
when he walked on the water, where mortal thinking would deem that impossible.
It, of course, was not “magical”, but was demonstrable of spiritual thinking that
lifts us above the limitation that tries to ground us. Like on a swing, we sometimes
seem to vacillate between the mortal and the divine, but as Evan states above,
in trusting God, we move our trust from a material sense of things to spiritual reality.

  6. I love this message from Evan today!
It reminds me of a Wednesday testimony I heard many years ago in my local branch church.
The young gal giving the testimony quoted from Hymn 64: “From sense to Soul, my pathway lies before me…”
Then she explained that what it speaks of is Not that we are *growing* from matter to Spirit, but rather we are *turning* FROM matter to see Spirit as the only path we’re already on!
That always inspires me when we sing that hymn in Church and Evan’s message today made me think of it again. So inspired and inspiring!

  7. Thank you very much indeed , dear Evan! your today’s SpiritView is so comforting to me, as just now I had to deal with thoughts, I’m sure they do not come from God and therefore not to me either.
At least now it’s time to move my trust from material sense over to spiritual reality. and trusting more and totally our loving Father Mother God, who is all encompasding Love, omnipotence and omnipresence! that calmes and comforts me.

Thank you, dear Maggie for the wonderful hymn 134!
And I’m very grateful for the articles I may enjoy here!

    Thank you
