Full-fledged health

January 9, 2026 | 18 comments

A friend was telling me about how they were experiencing a low-level illness that persisted over weeks for them.

I thought, “With God, there are no low-level illnesses.  There is only full-fledged health!”

We discussed how they had full-fledged health coming from God to experience every day, and that they didn’t need to accept a lesser version of that reality for themselves.  They agreed, and that marked a turnaround for them.

Sometimes we get used to suffering over time and think it’s normal to feel ill.  But it’s not.  Health is normal.  God created us to be healthy immortals, not sickly mortals.

The temptation to accept suffering as normal is so great in the material world that we must daily defend ourselves from being influenced by such suggestions.  But the effort is worth the reward.  We don’t have to accept common beliefs about suffering.  We can experience our God-given right to live in good health.

Health is our heritage as children of God.  You were created with the ability to remain healthy.

Stay clear that you are a child of God, worthy of good health.

Stand up for your rights and defend them!

“Sin, sickness, and death must disappear to give place to the facts which belong to immortal man.

“Learn this, O mortal, and earnestly seek the spiritual status of man, which is outside of all material selfhood” (Science and Health, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 476).

  1. Thank you, Evan! It’s a great reminder to keep our mental “firewall” in alert mode.

When I read this just now from Evan, it made me think: “The devil’s snare”. The “devil” is such a wily, very sly tempter!

  2. LOVE THIS! Adding this to my dailies: “Health is our heritage as children of God. You were created with the ability to remain healthy. Stay clear that you are a child of God, worthy of good health. Stand up for your rights and defend them!

STAND UP FOR YOUR DIVINE RIGHTS AND DEFEND THEM!

  3. This idea of “full-fledged health” reminds me of being in an exercise class years ago where the leader always encouraged participants to use the “full range of motion” as they exercised in order to get the most out of the session. I’ve often thought of that idea in terms of the “full range of health” when experiencing times of just not feeling completely well. God certainly gives us the ability to demonstrate the full range of health, mobility, flexibility, joy, generosity, goodness, etc. in our daily lives, and Christian Science gives us the tools. Nothing halfway or lacking about God’s love and care for His creation! “And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.” (John 1:16) Thank you, Evan.

    1. Thank you very much Patty for that link to the Sentinel Watch with Nikki Paulk . It’s worth listening. Nikki explains the achievement o health through unerstanding and demonstrstion of our oneness with God. She also talks about her remarkable healings, she experienced.
And the thought of her oneness with God came to her so clearely that it lead to her healings.
      A wonderful article!

I am so very grateful for Evan’s healing, inspiring and comforting SpiritView today and always.
And I love to read all your inspiring comments ! ♡

  4. A couple of thoughts came while reading this powerful message today.

“Health is not a condition of matter, but of Mind; nor can the material senses bear reliable testimony on the subject of health” (S&H, p. 120)

“The one Mind, God, contains no mortal opinions.” (S&H p. 399)

“”…Mind, God, is the source and condition of ALL existence.” (S&H p.181)

This last quote from S&H is something I’ve been pondering recently. If I want to know about my condition, or actually the condition of anyone or any situation, that quote is a real eye-opener. If we agree that divine MInd, God, is the condition of ALL existence (which includes us and the universe) then our condition is not different than God’s condition. What is God’s condition? All good and harmonious. Really understanding the depth of that is what we’re doing as we study and practice CS, the journey of a lifetime of spiritual exploration. Beautiful.

    1. Thank you for your comment Rose. And thank you everyone for your comments and thank you Evan for a, as Rose put it, “this very powerful message today!”

The last paragraph of Rose’s comment made me think of an article I just read this morning. This article may have been shared before, but I read it again this morning and found it provides a very clear statement of how we, as reflection, manifest all of the attributes of God. One of those attributes is “health” but there are many others. It’s fun to think about God’s attributes and how we reflect each one of them like the rose mentioned in this article. LOL I just realized Rose inspired me to share an article about a “rose”.

      1. Thank you for sharing this older but so relevant article. Some wonderful thoughts there, especially about the rose and I love this quote from the article –
In Science and Health (p. 305) Mrs. Eddy says, “As there is no corporeality in the mirrored form, which is but a reflection, so man, like all things real, reflects God, his divine Principle, not in a mortal body.”

      2. I love what is written about rose and the reflection and
where in the article it states, “Man, being the reflection of
        Spirit, cannot be material but must be wholly Spiritual;
hence man can never be seen in, through, or by means
of matter”. This would make Our perfect reflection also
as seen through the lens of Spirit, not matter. I found it
interesting (and never had thought of that way before), as
in a “human” dream, which is not really true, everything
is seen clearly, like we are being “seen” through the eyes
of God’s dear Love for all of us… Perfect as we are in God’s
image and likeness. (hope my interpretation comes across
the way I meant it to)

  5. Thank you Evan
and Patty for the Sentinel link.
It helped me a lot this morning and gave me several new ideas to think about.

  6. What a glorious treasure trove and beautiful inspirations and ideas here today. I’ll definitely be adding some of these to my daily thoughts. Thank you all.

  8. I love the idea of ‘’full fledged health’’. It makes me think of being lifted up above all human false conclusions to the serene true consciousness of perfection that’s ours…..
Thank you Evan and thank you for all the caring and sharing we love about SV contributions.❣️

  9. Thank you, Evan – that we have fully-fledged health is
a wonderful way to describe our true being. Thank you everyone for your input , all very inspiring.

The word “fullness: came to me, and the following hymn came to mind. Here are verses 2 and 3 of
    “From glory unto glory”

The fullness of His blessing / Encompasseth our way; / The fullness of His promise / Crowns every dawning day; / The fullness of His glory / Is shining from above, / While more and more we learn to know / The fullness of His love.
From glory unto glory, / What great things He hath done, / What wonders He hath shown us, / What triumphs Love hath won. / From glory unto glory, / From strength to strength we go, / While grace for grace abundantly / Doth from His fullness flow.
(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 65:2, 3)
