~ Proverbs 28:19
Thanks Evan for making us alert to spend our time productively instead of dreaming away the hours. At times we get paralysed when the human picture is not good and we tend to give up, to brood and waste time, not realizing that better opportunities are waiting and God is opening many more doors for us. But we get discouraged. We fail to see the loving God, the only true and good friend who never leaves us, is always by our side to give us boundless love, support, comfort, care and strength. God never fails nor forsakes us. But he provides us with better opportunities. If we continue putting in our efforts and doing our bit, He richly rewards us.
omg…its always so cool how your postings seem to be so timely and relevant…you must listen very well to the divince to be lead what to post on any given day…of course you do…thats part of the prayer process in Christian Science, if not the first step….
I’m a recent graduate of an 1 year IT upgrading program and well I have not been as active as I should be in securing my firtst position in the industry.
I must admin…certain “fantastical thoughts” have occured to me, to go in a different direction…or even get back into school again in January for a totally different career…..but I have a certain amount of debt already…so working for at least another year would be better to take care of that before going right back to school already…..
anyways…I’ll give it my best shot, re-boot my resolved to make the best effort everyday to see if I can break into the industry again.
I am considered a “mature” individual, and I have to deal with the suggestions from the human mind (-Mary Baker Eddy- refers to it as “mortal mind” in her text book “Science & Health with key to the Scriputes”(the text book of C.S.)….the suggestion I am combatting in thought are:
(1) Your too old, nobody wants an older guy like you in this fast paced, knowledge based industry
(2) Because your “older” you are not as mentally adept as you used to be.
(3) Also related to being “mature” , is the -suggestion- that you don’t have the energy for this kind of a career anymore….
Anyways….just have to flip all these and proclaim the opposite fact is the truth…..
(age is irrelavant, mental ability is based on reflecting Divine Mind, which one quaility of is Intelligence, God never gets old, God doesnt forget…etc..and energy…also comes from the infinite resouce of Divine Mind, Life, Truth , Love , Spirit, Soul…all qualities of God that we know of via C.S)
anyways…back to work!

Do what you love and love what you do, if that be work then so be it onto you. What I discovered early in by graduate career was that the difference between work and play was one’s attitude towards the activity and what was important was to commit oneself fully to that activity making the difference disappear in the light of joy, accomplishment, progress and competency which when humbly shared in meekness and love is an expression of our oneness with our maker.
Question: what is divine Mind “considering” today?
Answer: Its ideas!
Mind’s idea, man—this is all of us, generic man—is the idea of infinite (INFINITE!) intelligence. Therefore, we include all that our divine Mind, God, creates in and as us.
Ponder this, O wonderful idea, man!
Let – Let – Let what unfolds
From the pondering
Inform your day…
Your life!!

Spiritviewfan, Thank you for such an inspirational and clear line of thinking.
Thanks for this post! A very dear friend once shared with me that it is important that you feel love when you work. She would even re-make the bed if she did it without love in her heart. That is discipline! Work then loses its sense of burden and becomes a joy. I’m sure others, like I, have noticed that when we do any kind of job, with love and joy, time disappears. It shows how everything begins with thought. With a change of thought we lose a sense of dread in “having” to work, and the temptation to waste our time in daydreaming vanishes.
I once read that “Work without vision is drudgery” and it stayed with me. I try to remember this as I go about my chores and projects. It has helped me to reflect on beauty, industry, order, purity, etc. and it helps me to see beyond the actual physical actions.
Positive Spiritual Direction tends to keep our in line and seems to cast out negative thoughts.
“WORK = WORSHIP”….a wise and dear mentor shared this to me, many moons ago. It makes all the difference when we remember to Do ALL for the GLORY of GOD!
