A consciousness of Love protects you from the coronavirus

March 26, 2020 | 31 comments

The coronavirus is not a material threat to a spiritual consciousness of Love, for Love dissolves the fear that would make the virus harmful. To create immunity to the coronavirus, it is in our best interest to demonstrate a consciousness overflowing with fearless Love!

The Psalmist gave us an indication of the kind of protection we can expect from walking through life with our Shepherd, the Christ Love, leading the way. He wrote,

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4, NKJV).

To bring out the spiritual sense, Mary Baker Eddy inserted the word Love to this well-known verse. She wrote,

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for [LOVE] is with me; [LOVE’S] rod and [LOVE’S] staff they comfort me. (Science and Health, p. 578).

Love is God, the one and only omnipotent and omnipresent force for good that gives us life and health and preserves it for all eternity.

The Mind of Love is ever with us. Love ever watches out for us. Love keeps us safe from harm. With Love, no evil can touch you, no virus can harm you, no fear can dissuade you.

Work, live and think in a consciousness of abounding fearless Love! It’s the safest place to be, and it creates immunity to the coronavirus.

  1. Thank you Oh! Thank you Evan!

    As a carer I have many colleagues and friends who are still going out to work day and night. I am so grateful to have Christian Science to lean upon.

    “With Love, no evil can touch you, no virus can harm you, no fear can dissuade you.” An inspired sentence to take with me ♡

    I have also been listening to Michelle Nanouche’s Lecture with Q&A’s at the end.

    I have shared it with many Science and non-Science friends and found it not at all wanting, so filled with tenderness, Love and the Truth we all need to know. I hope no one will mind if I leave a link.

  2. I just watched the video that Shelagh sent and it’s wonderful! Thanks so much for posting this, Shelagh and thank you Evan for your wonderful inspiration that you bring to us every day! ❤️

  3. Mary Baker Eddy’s hymn, Love p,30-32

    “For Love alone is Life”

    The whole hymn is worth keeping in thought, starting with,

    “Like brother birds, that soar and sing,
    And on the same branch bend.

    “Pray that His spirit you partake,
    Who loved and healed mankind:”

  4. THank you Evan. I especially love the very first sentence! I felt a sense of relief as soon as I read it…not because I have been feeling fearful myself but am so tired of hearing dire predictions and negative expectations, alarmist news reports and frightened anxious comments from well-meaning friends…So to hear this absolute TRUTH is like a warm shower after a very cold day out.

  5. I’ve been… listening for a message of truth that I need to hear like “be still and know that I Am God.” Then I am using it this way..
    The way to extract error from mortal mind is to pour in truth through flood-tides of Love.. ( getting still.. pouring it in… I Am Life and I Am Love.. a floodtide… thus extracting error)
    (Science and Health, p. 201:17–18)

  6. Such wonderful inspiration! Thank you!
    Along these lines, I appreciate a part of the first verse from Hymn 350 in the Christian Science Hymnal: “Perfect is the grace that sealed us, Strong the hand stretched forth to shield us…” We are perfectly sealed off and shielded from anything bad by Love!
    My deepest gratitude to all who are praying to overcome fear and all aggressive suggestions.

  7. Thank you all for your comments. I just love all the MBE hymns, they are so comforting and beautiful, full of compassion and restorative to health, protective to any ills that we may mis-perceive.

  8. Thank you! Wonderful! This brings to mind hymn 144;
    “In atmosphere of Love divine,
    We live, and move, and breathe.
    Though mortal eyes may see it not,
    ‘Tis sense that would deceive.
    The mortal sense we must destroy,
    If we would bring to light
    The wonders of eternal Mind,
    Where sense is lost in sight.
    For God, immortal Principle,
    Is with us everywhere,
    He holds us perfect in his Love,
    And we his image bear.”

  9. And let’s not mention the virus as if its anything other than an illusion’s,– mortal mind’s– manifestation of its own illusions. No one is guilty of fearful beliefs. Not one thought-atom of virus has ever entered the Mind of God, the only consciousness, so no thought-atom of it has EVER entered anyone’s actual consciousness anywhere on this planet. It will just collapse into its nothingness.

    Any mentality aware of fear and evil is mindless shadow. The light of Love and Her individual manifestations of infinite light and Life alone is here, completely safe in his/her health, taking deep breaths of joy.

    “Girt with the love of God, on every side,
    I breathe that love as heaven’s own healing air;”

    (Christian Science Hymnal, hymn 196)

    1. Perfect, thank you Diane! And I love this how-to counsel from Mary Baker Eddy ~~
      What Our Leader Says
      “Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them. It is plain that nothing can be added to the mind already full. There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness. Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from the attacks of error of every sort. And not only yourselves are safe, but all whom your thoughts rest upon are thereby benefited.

      The self-seeking pride of the evil thinker injures him when he would harm others. Goodness involuntarily resists evil. The evil thinker is the proud talker and doer. The right thinker abides under the shadow of the Almighty. His thoughts can only reflect peace, good will towards men, health, and holiness.”
      (The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 210:1–17 (to .))

  10. Well, somehow what I typed didn’t post. I’ll try again.
    Jesus said, “I am the way. . .”
    I love Hymn 427:

    I walk with Love along the way,
    And O, it is a holy day;
    No more I suffer cruel fear,
    I feel God’s presence with me here;
    The joy that none can take away
    Is mine; I walk with Love today.

    Who walks with Love along the way,
    Shall talk with Love and Love obey;
    God’s healing truth is free to all,
    Our Father answers every call;
    ’Tis He dispels the clouds of gray
    That all may walk with Love today.

    Come, walk with Love along the way,
    Let childlike trust be yours today;
    Uplift your thought, with courage go,
    Give of your heart’s rich overflow,
    And peace shall crown your joy-filled day.
    Come, walk with Love along the way.

    Namaste!

  11. I’ve been receiving calls checking on my wellness. Caretakers, friends, and others.
    I have expressed my gratitude for them doing this caring work. That that’s what our dear Master Jesus directed us to do as his followers.
    Expressed to them that they are God’s loving child. And that they are protected in His loving arms. That fear is the enemy and is being dissolved by universal Divine Love.
    And that they are a light, and to not let it dim.
    And of course that we are all fine.
    Thank you for continuing this healing work, enlightened with
    “words that help and heal” Hymnal #88 & 89

  12. Thank you Ali, that was wonderful!. I will share with others. Loved everyone’s comments and hymns shared. I listened to TMC’s Wednesday service yesterday as I walked. Birds were singing, fluffy white clouds were all around my heart was filled with love. I am so grateful that TMC has their services recorded. They are inspirational and truly bringing healing to the world.
    And of course I thank you Evan for this incredible blog!!!

  13. I went to Walmart the other day to pick up a few items for my husband.
    As I was driving, the thought came to me, what prayer could I use to know
    that our need would be met and all others too. There was noise around saying the shelves were empty. The last time I went all was well.
    What could I pray to help all around me? Well we all know the prayer that
    meets every human need, as our dear Christ Jesus shared, when asked how do we pray. He gave us the Lord’s prayer, which begins with Our Father which art in heaven, which can be found in the King James Bible, in the New Testament, Matthew chapter six. Our Leader shares her interpretation of.The Lord’s Prayer, found in the Christian Science text book, Science and Health, by Mary Baker Eddy, page sixteen.
    As I was driving every car I passed, I declared that, as the Lord’s prayer begins, Our Father which art in Heaven, and our Leaders interpretation, (Our Father, Mother God, all harmonious),harmony stuck with me, so I knew every need was being met. When I got to the store, I was able to get everything on my list. I saw
    no one in a fear mode, except a girl I had worked with in the past. She came up to me and asked how I felt about all that was going on, I shared with her, that all would be well. She took it to heart, and thanked me.
    Being calm surely does bring peace to those around us.
    I needed two steaks, as my husband had this on his list. There were none out, A man working in the meat department, I asked him if there were any, and he shared there were and if I came back in about 15 minutes, he would
    be able to help me. I came back after finding all other items on my list, he was about ready to help me.
    When he was able, he showed me the steaks I asked for and said I could have them all if I wanted. The thought came to me, when the Israel children had no food, Moses prayed and manna came in the morning, He told them to take what they needed, and nothing more. The one’s who took more than needed spoiled. I took what I came for and was grateful. The Lord’s prayer truly meets every need. We can rest, and know that we are all the children of God, and He supply’s every need.

  14. I had to spend a couple hours flying in a commercial jet a few days ago. I had been praying diligently for the past few weeks regarding the coronavirus, and had felt a sense of peace and freedom from fear. Yet, the night before I was to fly, I felt a little uneasy, and wondered if this was a wise thing to be doing.

    I reached out to God for comfort and guidance, and one of my favorite Bible texts from Isaiah cane to thought- “Fear thou not, for I am with thee. Be not dismayed, for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my Righteousness.” This brought immediate comfort, and then these words cane to thought- “Daniel felt safe in the lion’s den”. I turned to “Science and Health” to read the whole text which reads- “ “Understanding the control which Love held over all, Daniel felt safe in the Lion’s den, and Paul proved the viper to be harmless.” I reasoned that if Daniel could feel safe and at peace in the lions den (a much more aggressive and dangerous enclosed place than in the airplane) by feeling and understanding Love’s control over all, I could certainly do the same in the airplane. And since Paul proved the viper to be harmless, with his understanding of God’s power and Love, I could certainly prove the virus to be harmless. This gave me such calm and a sense of dominion. I felt the Love of God, strengthening me and moving me forward. During the flight, I kept my thought close to God, knowing only Love was present, enfolding me, and the few others that were also in the plane. There was no room for a virus or fear in the atmosphere of Divine Love, which was filling that cabin, and is where we all live and move and breath” . It was a truly uplifting and harmonious flight.

    I am very grateful for God’s tender presence, feeing us from fear, and continuously sending us the angels that we need, to comfort, guard and guide. I am grateful for all the inspiring truths you post on SpiritView, Evan, and for all the wonderfully helpful comments.
    Sincerely, I Thank you- Diane

  15. This morning I wanted to have a nice telefone conversation with an acquaintance. On a short occation she made a remark which I felt was a bit rude and i did not like it at all. I am aware that I must turn my sensitivity into love for this acquaintance. Love is the healer of everything needed to be healed.
    Thank you dear Evan for this wonderful SpiritView comforting me very much in my seeming negative situation.
    Thank God, I am not fearful because of covit19. That is also a healing result of prayer and study of the weekly lesson sermon.
    Am really grateful to God, bringing the Christ in our time through Christian Science.
    And am thankful for the good comments, so helpful too.

  16. “The Lord’s arm is not shortened that it cannot save” is the thought
    Message for me today. Thanks Diane for your contribution as many
    Snowbirds are. Returning after wintering in southern states. They
    Are in isolation for 14 days. Your thoughts on this travel very helpful
    As of course Evan’s post .also the message that no evil can enter the door. Thanks again. We’d service from Boston a treasure!

  17. Thank you Evan & all, But especially to Ali for the link to that amazing performance. Now in lock down seemed like a good time for Rassler to see if she could rally an entire orchestra to record virtual performance of Burt Bacharach and Hal David’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love” . She shared the idea on her Facebook page, explaining to her friends how it would work: “your job is to just take a video of yourself singing (literally pick any part/the whole song/just 10 seconds/riff to the gods/up to you!!), playing your instrument along to the track, choreograph a dance to the music, anything your heart desires, and I’ll cut everything up create an arrangement from what y’all send me, and share it with you all because WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS LOVE SWEET LOVE Y’ALL LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN.” And she did! Love is truly at work.

  18. Thank you Evan for your inspirational messages which always help us to keep our thought uplifted. Thank you also Ali for providing the link to such an amazing performance. Creative ideas certainly flourish when we are required to step beyond the boundaries of our normal everyday lives!

  19. Thank you Evan and each of the correspondents for your continuing inspired ideas, day in and day out. They are truly appreciated.
