When we are no longer able to change a situation,
we are challenged to change ourselves.
~ Victor Frankl
Who do you blame when things are not going well in your life? Do you point the finger of accusation in the right direction?
Jesus never taught his followers to blame others for difficulties he faced. He certainly had pointed words to say to his enemies and felt free to expose their evil thoughts and intentions. He said,
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.” Matthew
But he did not let his enemies stop him from progressing. He did not give them power over his mind and future. He knew one power, one God, divine Love, and his complete understanding of one power over all enabled him to triumph over his enemies.
So, if you feel stuck, hopeless, or at the mercy of others, the problem is not “out there!” It’s “in here.” A change in heart, attitude, or perspective is required to find the freedom you desire.
Point the finger of accusation at mortal mind, human ego, pride, self-righteousness, and self-conceit. Sap those of strength and presence in your thinking, and your enemies will be Bye-Bye!
Thank you, Evan. I’m going to share this with several young adults I know. Truly, God carries us forward and our possibilities are boundless!
Thanks Evan,
This reinforces some of the things I’ve read recently in the current Christian Science Journal. Also, my CS teacher includes in her annual address, in some way, nearly every year that it’s never “out there”. It’s always in here, in consciousness.
Thanks again reinforcement/reminder. I appreciate your thought.
