Back from UK

I made it home! What a great trip.
England has lots of clouds! When the sun did find openings in the sky to shine through to earth we happily soaked in its warmth.
I finished five lectures, starting in Liverpool, then south to Cheltenham, northeast to Bradford, west to Preston, and back south to the University in Liverpool. Overall, many newcomers were introduced to Christian Science for the first time, misunderstandings were cleared up, hope rekindled, inspiration fueled, hearts touched and joy found once again. It was an inspiring tour.

The economy is very tough for many in Britain right now. But as audience members took in a message of how spiritual abundance is built into their being and available to express immediately without delay, heaviness started to visibly lift from troubled faces, smiles appeared, levity surfaced, joy was found once again! I could see healing happen right before my eyes.

One woman, who sat in a front row, told me how the day before her life looked so dark and wrought with troubles and trials that she didn’t see much reason to go on. She came to the lecture and was transformed. Five minutes into the talk, the doom and gloom lifted instantly, she asserted. She was overflowing with joy and love as she told me about her quick recovery during the lecture. Many others relayed similar experiences.

It takes a lot of time and effort to travel part way around the globe to speak in a foreign land. I have to leave home behind, put family activities on hold, keep in touch with the children via texting, email and phone, work my practice through my Blackberry, and catch up with unfinished business when I return. But it was all worth it, and also extra special to have my wife, Kathy, along on this trip.
The British are wonderful people. The ones I met were so friendly, generous, kind, organized and ready to make sure everything turned out proper. Kathy and I made many new friends and gained several new special memories to cherish for a long time.

In light of all the healing that happened, lives touched, Christian Science spread and explained to wider audiences, the trip was very productive. I look forward to going back again someday.

  1. thanks for sharing the details of your trip and the photos! sounds like it was beneficial for all involved.

  2. Now you know to a greater extent what it must’ve felt like to be Paul, except that he didn’t take an airplane over the ocean and back! 🙂

I like how you keep your blog so real and speak from the heart, simply. You bring spirituality “to the masses” in a heart-lifting way — not only in your lectures (which I’m very happy to hear were so life-changing) but also here, where you keep in touch so regularly (again, like Paul with his letters).
