Are you Building Bridges?

How many benefits have come into your life because of good deeds done by others that walked before you? It’s important to acknowledge those benefits and the people responsible for them, and to show our gratitude by abundantly providing for those yet to come.

Here’s a one minute video that inspires to loftier giving.

  1. So inspiring, and true. Another good story of a man building bridges in on the CNN Heroes 2010 website. Harman Park started building bridges in Kenya after so many people were hurt or killed trying to cross croc infested waters.
Sometimes just a little help is all that is needed. As Mary Baker Eddy says in Miscellany, p.165:
“As an active portion of one stupendous whole, goodness identifies man with universal good. Thus may each member of this church rise above the oft-repeated inquiry, What am I? to the scientific response: I am able to impart truth, health, and
happiness, and this is my rock of salvation and my reason for being”.

  2. Thanks for this post Evan. It is a treatment for so many things-lethargy, apathy, lack of purpose. And what an inspiration to all branch church members who labor to continue their outreach efforts. This is a great one to share. Much love and gratitude!

  3. I thought of Mary Baker Eddy as I read this. What if she had just stopped with her own healing? Her further investigation into scientific spiritual healing transformed world thought. She left us a bridge to understand and emulate the healings of Christ Jesus. We have to cross the bridge though….we have to do the “work”! I love this post, and appreciate the nudge to be grateful for all the bridge builders of thought over the centuries. Some well known, some never acknowledged. But bridge builders to higher understanding nonetheless.

  4. Just last night I had a dream. It was a funny dream and I was hoping to read a blog or a C/S Daily Lift that spoke of a situation that would be aprapo to write what this dream told me.
SUPERMAN! More powerful than a Locamotive, Able to leap tall buildings with a single bound. Faster than a speeding Bullit. Well! we might not be any of these. But one thing we are. To those who understand what God is and our relationship to him, we can have many wrong mortal material thoughts firing at us and not consciously take it in to annoy or destroy but allow it to bounce off us into it’s native nothingness. REAL COOL, DON’T YOU THINK?

  5. Thank you everyone for your expansion on today’s topic. I am extremely grateful for many bridge builders in my life. I hope I can reciprocate by doing more to help others. Even passing on a smile, listening, caring, being there , love reflecting Love will build all sorts of treasures presently and for the future.
