A couple of months ago, on October 25, I posted a video clip of a youngster narrating the continuity of the Bible.
One of you mentioned that Oral Roberts had a similar sermon. So I Googled his talk and found a Godtube video with his voice and the sermon points he makes appearing in print, which I found very helpful.
This vision of Christ throughout the Scriptures sure pulls the Bible together into one tight story.
Here it is… “Who is this 4th man?”
Who Is This 4th Man? from friendsforevertv on GodTube.
Sorry, but that video felt, to me, like a whipped-up whirl of words — the cold wind of the letter, lifeless, soulless.
These little ones, who I found on the website you referred us to, express to my heart more of the humble, gentle, obedient, honest spirit of Christ: http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=F1CC9FNU
So … thanks for helping me find true prayer in two paws on a leg, with a sweet face buried underneath! 🙂
Thank you for posting that. The anointing is still on that sermon.
Very cool. Of course the Christ appeared throughout the Bible.. why wouldn’t it? I just had never seen it this way. Thanks for this clear sense of the Christ’s appearing.
sentiments like the first commentator, didn’t feel much like the comforting Christ to me but a recitation of words lacking humility and love ….
Thank you so much for sharing this – having heard Oral Roberts for many years, I am familiar with his delivery but the message is still very powerful to help us see the Christ throughout the Bible and how he appeared to the ancients and now how he appears to us as Christian Science. So grateful for all you do!!
I sympathize with the above comment “a whipped up whirl of words.” True. It was the thread of Christ throughout the Bible that I wanted to bring out. That just makes the Bible make a whole lot more sense to me.
Wow!Thanks for sharing. I feel it was delivered with much conviction in the truth of the revelation of Christ throughout the Bible. I appreciate the insight!
Our family knew Oral Roberts personally, and he was extremely antagonistic and hateful to CS, told us we would all “go to hell”, and to “get out of that church”. Needless to say, we don’t have much respect for Oral’s sermons.
The message is great, so thanks for sharing Evan, but I did find the delivery a little like being shouted at, I found it hard to focus on the message and not the delivery.
I’ve always seen the Christ throughout Scripture, and most other places in life, so this is novel, but not revelatory for me, except in Esther, I’d have to see Esther as the Christ, not Mordecai. But, then, that’s perhaps because I’m a woman!
