It’s much easier to drive down the highway when the weather is clear and the sun is out shining bright.
If fog settles in, everything changes. You slow down, spend more attention discerning the surface of the road and other cars around you, maybe feel a bit of tension swelling, and perhaps get perturbed about being delayed.
The same type of action happens in consciousness.
When consciousness is clear and inspired, thinking goes well. Inspiration appears quickly, joy is easy to find, hope abounds, and the fruition of God’s good is easy to find.
But if “fog” settles into human consciousness, everything changes. The mental way is not clear. Thinking gets bogged down in unproductive modes that delay progress.
Foggy states of thought include fear, worry, doubt and feelings of limitation and hopelessness.
Vigilant prayer, study and devotion to God eliminate this mental fog and clear consciousness to receive divine Love’s inspired ideas that get thought back on track with all that is good and helpful.
So, don’t drive in a mental fog today. Stop what you’re doing, get in tune with Truth, and then restart your journey. The drive will be far more enjoyable, productive and beneficial.
This is terrific, Evan! Love the analogy of the fog and the foggy consciousness. Very clear! 🙂
Thank you!!! — For me, this resonates so well, here in Brookings — outside, it is foggggy! That said, keeping thought clear with my Divine right.
Cheers —
The fog could also be the many interruptions while your studying C/S. This is most annoying. I do need help to combat this.
thank you, Even, this message came through clear and bright.
Tobias, Truth cannot be interrupted! When I realized this, not only did I stop being annoyed, but the interruptions went way down. And thanks Evan for your all your posts
Love the thought of “vigilant prayer”- really requires constant mental action on our part. It gave me a new appreciation of Mrs. Eddy’s urge to “Stand porter at the door…”
Thanks so much for these wonderful messages, Evan!
