Don’t stop now

If you’re going through hell, keep going.

~ Sir Winston Churchill

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalms 23

We may walk through the valley, but we don’t get stuck there. We keep on walking until we exit on the other end.

And there is an end!

  1. There is a country song currently on the radio and it’s refrain is:
“If you’re going through hell, keep on going. Don’t look back if you’re scared don’t show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you’re there.”
I love this song because to me it says – if we keep our eyes on God and follow the first commandment, it takes away the devil’s (or mortal mind’s) power. If we stick around and wallow in the problem…it will be harder to break free from the illusion.
    Thanks for the terrific inspiration.

  2. Interesting, isn’t it? That even tho’ Evan did not hear the song, the message was in thought – in the world’s consciousness – all proving that Mind is one, communicating what we need to know, and in very practical ways, “meeting every human need.” Often I forget how important it is to keep my thought on higher ground – and how what we think is actually what’s being communicated. This is so true in business, politics, daily life – and how we act.
When I studied acting the teacher said it was what you were thinking that determined how a line was delivered. My acting coach stressed the importance of thinking as the character, instead of just trying to mimick what we were told to do by a director – or to dredge up an emotion from our personal past to convey an idea.
A friend once spoke of the Golden Rule which we all know – and then said the Diamond Rule is: “Think about others as you would have them think about you!” I like that, and can’t be reminded too often to align my thinking with reality, spiritual truth, and the Christ that Jesus taught.
