End those wrestling matches

June 25, 2025 | 28 comments

Do you ever feel like you’re in a wrestling match with fear, worry or doubt?

If so, there’s a way to end that turmoil.  Step out of trying to solve the problem humanly, and let God resolve it spiritually.

God always sees and knows ahead and puts everything into place for us to progress.  This is a law of Life.

We don’t have to do what God has already done.  We don’t have to fight our way to God’s love and care for us.  It’s already here to see and accept.

Like stepping into the sunshine and enjoying the warmth of the sun, as we mentally step into the omnipresence of infinite Love, we are embraced by its comfort.  We don’t have to fight for it.  It’s a gift.
“The battle is the Lord’s” (I Samuel 17:47), the Bible reminds us.  When we let God take the lead, fear and worry disappear.  What we thought was a danger, is rendered harmless.  We don’t have to fight anymore.  We accept and enjoy.

    1. Evan, thank you. Today’s message is so filled with Love.and Truth. Mrs. Eddy says “pour in Truth through flood -tides of Love .” Science and Health page 201. Evan thanks again you certainly did just that
      Gratefully

    1. What!? No WWE G.O.A.T…. you know…”End those wrestling matches…” Thanks for making me start the day with a smile! 🙂 Learned about Rafa Nadal too.

      1. Agree Susan! Loved seeing MJ mentioned yesterday, as he is synonymous with the Bulls and the great city of Chicago.

  1. Just what I needed. Trying to figure it out for myself only brings further turmoil and entanglement. But God is there, he has the best plan, already!

  2. Oh, yeah, those “wrestling matches” can surely try to drag us down with fear,
worry and doubt and so many other deceptions that mortals seem to dream
up these days. How wonderful it is to spiritually and mentally “step into the
omnipresence of infinite Love and be embraced by it’s comfort”… so much
better than wrestling with devilish thoughts that would keep us from the
    harmony of Truth.
Love the photo today : ) and the kite reminds me of a dear friend who used
to love to fly a kite in the wide open spaces of heaven’s eternity, where she
is abiding in God’s care and beauty right now. Thank you Evan and All !!!

  3. Thank you Evan. I think we can all relate to those “wrestling matches” which we find ourselves engaged in with error thoughts/appearances. Mrs. Eddy said, “Citizens of the world, accept the glorious liberty of the children of God and be FREE! This is your divine right.” (S&H p. 227)

    1. Thank you very much Rose for that loving and comforting passage from Science and Health.

And thanks very much to you, too, “J” for your very helpful and inspiring comment ! It gives me a lot!

  5. Thank you Evan, so good and lots to ponder.

The word “foothold” popped into thought yesterday afternoon. Okay, kind of random and some issues appeared to be having a strong foothold in my thinking and I was feeling kind of stuck. But when I looked up the word, it describes foothold as, “a secure position from which further progress may be made.” Aha! This was a totally different view that spiritual sense was revealing. A “secure position in which to progress” could only mean feeling securely and safely held in God’s constant love and care – where I’d actually been all along, but to mortal sense couldn’t seem to perceive it. In spiritual reality, we never have been and never can be separated from our source, God. What a relief! As I Samuel 17:47 says above, “…We don’t have to fight anymore. We accept and enjoy.”

    1. J, this is wonderful! It reminds me of last Friday’s Daily Lift about redeeming the word “anxious.” It’s all about flipping the narrative of material sense for the spiritual reality.
Evan, today’s blog is so helpful. I especially appreciated this paragraph:
“Like stepping into the sunshine and enjoying the warmth of the sun, as we mentally step into the omnipresence of infinite Love, we are embraced by its comfort. We don’t have to fight for it. It’s a gift.” Hallelujah!

    1. It IS comforting, isn’t it Himanshu Dhand – and with the seeming battles
in the world today in the Middle East, and other conflicts, including in
the US with various seeming divisions, it is great to know that God is
in control of things and with God’s spiritual resolves … battles melt away
and weapons/swords can be turned into plowshares.

  6. Thank you deeply, dear Evan for your today’s very comforting and healing SpiritView!
The Bible’s reminder from I Samuel 17 is absolute wonderful: “The battle is the Lord’s”. I love that, and I am very prepared to “let God take the Lead”. As God’s child it is actually natural that we let God guide us. Am thankful to have learned that in Christian Science!

Thanks Mark/IL for the explanation of the word LEAD what it could mean metaphysically!

Thank you for the refreshing, joyful foto, Evan! I wished I could enjoy such joy at the seaside or in a lovely wood, making a walk. But I’m very grateful that I could make such nice travels to many several seasides in formers years.
