  1. A beautiful reminder to cherish the essence of Christmas. I love to think about God’s greatest gift to mankind, Christ Jesus and his expression of the Christ-Truth for the benefit of all mankind. Today’s blog goes hand in hand with your blog of A Christmas state of mind, Evan! Thanks for keeping us on track in the hustle and bustle of the season. Blessings, world wide fellow readers! May your Christmas be full of peace, light, joy, and gratitude!

  2. Thanks, Evan! Yes, let’s definitely put the Christ back in Christmas! I don’t know about anyone else, but I have been struggling a bit with maintaining my balance re. all the chaos and turmoil created by the President- Elect. Working hard to realize God is in control and governs All! Especially at this Christmas time of year, I feel a need to defend the Christ and not to let it get lost in all the clamor and the clutter! Joy to All!

    1. Believe me Bevi, the results of the election bother most Australians too, however I guess you know the analogy that the mud must be stirred up from the bottom of the river to be washed out. Error unseen is error not dealt with.
When the things I see on TV upset me, I remind myself that “The word of the Lord is forever” … Mortal man comes and goes, but God’s laws STAND FOREVER

  3. So sorry the election is bothering you Bevi…..Inside this problem is an opportunity for you
The fake news…NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN ,FOX, BBC ,MSNBC has propagandized so many minds and not allowed these minds to know there is only one governance…Gods Governance…..

  4. God is not challenged by any of our challenges. We can always rely upon the spiritual truth to expose and dissolve error of whatever fable it tries to present. Knowing the spiritual truth that Divine Mind is the creator of all expressions with infinite eternal power can never for an instant be subject to such fables as the temporal physical conceptions of being.

  5. I, too, am worried for my country. But I do think it is an opportunity for mortal mind to come forth to be destroyed and for the best to come out in all of us. God is in charge and nothing can obstruct God’s expression of Good.
Each Christmas something new for me is expressed. It may not be the actual birthday but is a time when all can pause and give thanks and enjoy the endless beauty around us and forgive. I am not sure what shade of Good is coming this year at Christmas for me to see. I am always grateful at Christmas that the message of Christ Jesus came at all.

  6. I just love this blog! I love and so appreciate the postings by Evan each day that awaken us to the truth about different topics and keep us alert. And then I love the thought provoking discussion that follows from all of the comments that are posted.

For example, Maximo’s and Anna’s great questions from November 16th and Evan’s wonderful responses and then Maximo’s follow-up response have been “rattling around” in my thinking since first reading them. Evan’s response about viewing Jesus from a spiritual perspective and Maximo’s comment about how meaningful that was to him was so enlightening to me.

Then today Bevi’s comment provoked me to think deeply again (Thanks Bevi!) and to ask myself, “From what perspective am I viewing my day-to-day experience?”

The past few weeks I’ve been thinking that to resolve any issue via Christian Science you first need to step back and view the situation from a spiritual perspective…comparing “what appears to exist” to “what we learn via Christian Science actually exists”. If “what appears to exist” does not match “what we know exists” (i.e. God and His idea), we first must realize, through prayer, that “what appears to exit” is not true…it’s an illusion. Then we can pray to understand more deeply what is true.

For example, if we are concerned about the President-Elect we can take a step back and ask ourselves, “Why am I concerned?” Everybody that asks that question could have a different answer, but whatever the answer the “issue” is really not “something out there” but some false conception we are holding to in consciousness about reality. For example, one might be concerned that the President-Elect lacks necessary experience. It might then come to that person to pray to understand that spiritually everyone and everything has to express Mind, since God is the cause of everyone and everything that exists. Or it might come to that person to pray (as Bevi mentioned) to better understand how “God is in control and governs All!”. But whatever is revealed to us in our thinking that does not match what we know has to be true because of what we know of God, we can correct through prayer. And once corrected, we can hold to that truth even if the outward evidence does not immediately change…after all, any evidence that God is not in control is just an illusion that does not deserve any attention in our thinking once we thoroughly understand the truth about that illusion. OR perhaps our prayers will lead us to take some action that helps to bring the situation in line with what we know to be true.

So in summary, I’ve just awaken more clearly to the importance of “translating” what appears to be a “material experience” into an entirely “spiritual experience”. How nothing that appears as a material experience really is material. Our experience takes place in consciousness and that is entirely spiritual. Therefore by keeping our consciousness focused on what we know to be true, instead of what may appear to us as reality, we can truly experience the true meaning of Christmas…Immanuel…or the understanding that God is always with us, in control of everything, and we with Him.

    1. Great comments Brian! I agree…and aren’t we always praying to “correct” or see correctly the truth about all sorts of things concerning ourselves and family, friends etc? I guess we now need to include “the Donald” in that as he is in a position to be made more aware of the higher qualities that are now expected of him …who knows?.. maybe this BIG learning time for him will also end up being the catalyst for other necessary changes in ways we cannot imagine? I’ve lost count of the times I ASSUMED the worst from a situation, prayed about it , then found that something SO GOOD resulted. God knows good better than we do. We are all learning throughout this lifetime and sometimes we learn what we need to by another’s experience or through praying FOR another. God’s power does NOT stop being just because of an election or when things dont go as WE “planned” ! Oh boy have I ever learnt THAT !

  7. Thanks to all for the comments! I’ve been a bit hurried and stressed out, but have been blessed by both observing and interacting with people in stores, restaurants, etc. who have taken the time to be courteous and friendly, even if they we in a hurry! That has inspired me! So no matter what, I try to step back and appreciate those around me, and be loving. A little patience and love goes a long way!

  8. Brian, your closing statement. You are right on the mark. Your understanding of the Truth have been so well expressed of Evan’s concerns.

    Thanks!

  9. Thank you, Evan for the succinctness of factual truth. The same is true with the study and understanding of mathematics. No matter how complex the problem seems to be there is only one number or digit to be given place, that is number one, for all other expressions (names given to all others are comprised with additional one’s, even to infinity). They are multiple ideas of “One”, the very Principle governing the work being done. For instance, what we know of five is that this number or name is expresses and is revealing the One with five reflecting attributes of itself. This is what “man” is in relationship to His only “Cause and Creator”, we also know as God. Likewise, such is also the work of infinity in mathematics. The correct application of the spiritual family name for man as explained by Christian Science is true. We all our reconciling in human consciousness this same principle to our true selfhood as being at all times the spiritual reflection of Principle, God. Our placement and assignment is individual, and always in harmony with all others. Like the sun’s individual rays reflecting light upon the universe. It is thought, or idea, that is ever active and reflective of divine Truth, Life, and Love. Man’s perfect reflection of perfect God. “There is no imperfection in perfection.” Do use the lowest common denominator to keep the truth of fact simple and at its clearest.

  10. Thanks Evan, great lesson today from you and wonderful comments from Brian and Diane. Ellen you are so right about acknowledging patience, etc. So much to be grateful for.
