Finding your right place

Are you in your right place?

If unhappy at work, one might wonder if they are in the right job.

If unhappy in a relationship, one might wonder if they are with the right person.

If struggling to fit into a certain community, one might wonder if they should move to a different one.

Finding our right place is an important part of living happy and healthy.

If you’re wondering whether you are in your right place or not, take heart. There’s hope! You can find your right place by taking your thought to the right place. With God! God is an all-knowing Mind that knows your right place.

Right place is a state of Mind. It’s not of the human mind which fluctuates, is unpredictable, and often promises good one day and takes it away the next. Right place is knowing what God knows, seeing what God sees, and living true to what God wants us to be doing.

For instance, if one is moping around at work, feeling sorry for themselves, and radiating negativity, their thought is not in its right place. It’s in a dark place that is unpleasant, and it’s no wonder that person feels misery. Their thought is in the wrong place. But change that attitude from one of self-pity to being Love in action, and a negative experience can immediately turn into a positive one.

When our thought is in its right place, our experience is much better.

If you’re struggling about your right place, start your quest for the right place with prayer to see if your thought is in its right place.

When your thought is in its right place with God, you’ll hear God’s direction and know whatever you need to know to discern your right place. If an outward change is needed, it will become apparent how, when and where. If a greater appreciation for what one already has is warranted, that will become apparent too.

Right place begins with God. Start there, and anything else good will follow.

“Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts” (I John 5:21, NLT).

  1. What a beautiful spiritview! Drew the following thought
Luke 17:20, 21 ”And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” We’re always in our right place with God. That’s where God sees us. Perfectly placed to do His will.

  2. Lovely, energetic, reassuring, messages – from all of you! Christian Science and community is such a gracious gift, that guides us, to see and think and do, rightly! God bless us all !

  3. Thank you all so much. I’m reminded of a hymn ‘Home is the consciousness of good’ and this guides me as our church navigates toward a new situation. Nestled in the secret place of the most high we feather our nest with love.

  4. Thank you Evan,
This is very timely for me at this time in my experience. I believe that I am in my right place because I arrived here through correctly knowing that, ” I am in my right place, at one with God, good”.

  5. This S/V and yesterday’s make me want to remind all of you wonderful participants of Evan’s recent 35 minute talk on Animal Magnetism. It is the 2/3/20 ‘Sentinel Watch’ online. One of you might be able to provide the ‘link’ for the others who don’t have access to it. I recently recommended it to a friend, she said she had already listened twice and was planning to listen again. This is also true for me, I now plan on studying the short chapter in S&H (pg. 100-106) regularly.
My thanks to all of you and to Evan for his dedication to us and to the world.

  6. Right on, Evan. I’ve noticed that when I think i might be in the wrong place and change my thinking I see that I am really not in the wrong place. Sometimes I miss that fact that I am in the right place which is meant for me to help others to see their right place too. The events that are going on around me are for me to demonstrate that right place which is not always comfortable but necessary for the demonstration of good which is constantly available.

  7. I agree with Josef.. Often our right place is where our thouht is needed at that time… God knows.. we don’t need to be concerned

In the 80s I worked freelace doing computer work all around downtown Toronto, and every single assignment I had was the result of prayerful work, and I was (and am) continually in my right olace. Often, I didnt know what good I could do there, as I went about my physical work.. Tho reflected thought was doing things beyond what the senses showed… and always, the situation was markedly improved. So very grateful for the ability to focus of my thought to the divine all power!

  8. Thank you Evan and commenters! Does anyone know of a written copy of Evan’s Sentinel Watch about Animal Magnetism? I have limited data while traveling.

    1. Jennifer, I asked the publishers of our CS magazines, whether this wonderful Radio Sentinal talk of Evan about AM could be published, as I know members who have no PC and are very interested in this precious talk. As I understand the answer, it could possibly be published in the CS Journal once. I myself would also be very grateful for a publication of Evan’s so extensive and clear talk about AM.

  9. God never wants anything but good for us. Praying humbly for guidance and a true willingness to give up the human willfulness and follow God’s leading only, will truly lead to our rightful place mentally and humanly. I’ve seen this many times in my own life. With career, marriage, and housing. I’ve also experienced being lifted out of an unhappy relationship. If a change is needed, our God will take us all the way If we are willing to stand with Him.

  10. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Once again, your words have answered my prayer. This is something I’m working on right now and needed help with. This sentence helped me so much ” If an outward change is needed, it will become apparent how, when and where.” The work project I’m on is ending tomorrow and I need to find another place to live all at once. Haven’t heard what to do yet but I know God will lead me. This article is a sure sign that by continuing my study of Christian Science and sticking close to God and not the problem I will be at peace to be able to hear his direction. Thank you, Evan. Also, have been working with your Radio Sentinel talk about Animal Magnetism. So very thorough and helpful. “When your thought is in its right place with God, you’ll hear God’s direction and know whatever you need to know to discern your right place.” Thank you again. 🙂

  11. The right place for me is there where God is, where God placed me in order to express Him. And then of course it can only work for good and harmonious for me and my neighbor whereever I am.
Thank you Evan for this very inspiring SpiritView which is so wonderfully extensive and distinct. I love to study it more thorough these days.
Always thanks for this awesome christian scientific blog!
Am also grateful for the so interesting and lively comments!

  12. Sometimes we think we are the only one who is going through place issues, housing, whatever, but God hears us B4 we call and answers ” while we are yet speaking” Isa 65-25. My Dad called it God’s phone number and He, Good Will answer. Have to be a really good listener. Thanks and love ya all. gj

  13. Many times I had a lovely happy school to teach in ,but at one of my placements I found that the principal was going to move ,at the end
of the year and another man would be our head teacher. I had had an unhappy. experience with the new person and began to pray about my situation. I did Not apply to move but just kept my thought open and listening for the right answer.about 3 days before the end of the year, I
Received a call that I would
be moving to a new school. I. Was delighted and my parent volunteers did all they coukd to help me move and prepare for the new surrounding s and the new class.I was so grateful and was so happy in this God prepared place for me. Ev en though it was so close to the end of the year. Thank you Father! And thank you Evan, as my husband and I will be moving in a few years again and your post is most helpful.

  14. I’m definitely not in my right place physically or mentally. I’m in a Heàlthcare Center awaiting surgery, I have done nothing wrong. I just went to church and fell,. I don’t deserve to be punished and feel abandoned by God.

    1. Hello: remember your true identity is the reflection of Spirit. You are not material, your are spiritual. Don’t be hypnotized into believing that you could fall you from your high estate of being God’s perfect, child, who could never fall. Of course, you did nothing wrong. Purity and innocence are your divine status. Go back to “In the beginning” Genesis 1:1 and 31. “God saw everything he had made and behold it was very good.” In the beginning only good is happening, good happening now and always will. Bible verse “hold up my goings in thy paths that my footsteps slip not.” God is on duty taking care of you, holding you up – you can never fall out of Love’s care.
