One of the most important keys to success
is having the discipline to do
what you know you should do,
even when you don’t feel like doing it.”

This rule seems especially true about dedicated, devoted and productive prayer…

Evan, how can you read my thoughts ?
Getting many “kick in the pants” lately and actually enjoying it ! Thank you !!
For years, I have been lazy about studying The Lesson Sermon until my son bought me this I-PAD, and I got interested in all of the C/S Web-Sites. They encouraged me to go back to the study of C/S with spiritual energy and voom.
I have been committed to daily prayer, but find wayward thoughts seem to constantly distract me so that I often feel like my prayer has not been productive. Please help, Evan. Thank you.
Prayer can be like listening to a radio station. You have to decide which station you’re going to listen to, and then tune into that station. You can’t be listening to another station at the same time.
So it is with what we entertain in thought. Are you entertaining mortal mind fears and distractions, or Truth? Be honest. Make the right choice, and benefit. You have dominion to listen to God’s voice alone.
There is an excellent article in the July 8 Sentinel titled, “Abandoning Apathy”, by Deborah Huebsch that discusses this issue. It’s a keeper.
Thanks, Evan.
