An inquirer asked me if God sent Covid to teach humanity a lesson? I said, “Absolutely not. God did not create Covid. God is good. God is Love. God would never do anything to hurt or harm humanity. God sends only good our way to help and heal us.”
It’s a time-worn theological belief that has been passed down over the centuries, usually by fundamentalist sects, that God sends evil to punish people for their sins.
Christian Science takes exception to this belief, and explains that God is good. God is Love. God is not evil, and God would never do anything to harm his beloved creation.
Plagues, disease, suffering from natural disasters, and more, are not of God, but of mortal mind. They are expressions of the belief that a power exists opposite to God, and can cause hurt and harm.
Jesus Christ came to teach us how to conquer evil and neutralize its bad effect. Through God’s power, we can put down evil, stop it, render it harmless and prevent bad effects.
Covid has nothing to do with God. It’s evil. But God is here to help us conquer it and live healthy and strong.
God did not create Covid. God creates conditions of health and safety for us to discover and accept.

Reading a book by Robert Peel, “Spiritual Healing in a Scientific Age”, shows the universality of Truth while other denominations, in their own way reveal healing effects of Truth. and Love.

“From The Methodist Pulpit Into Christian Science And How I Demonstrated The Abundance Of Substance And Supply”, Shows how other denominations are progressing.
It is easy to see the acquiescence of different forms of worship gaining understanding coming together as one.

It’s hard to believe that some people think God made covid to punish the world, but apparently many do still believe God is a vindictive judgemental big man in the sky. If only EVERY person in the world could read your blog Evan!

Another aspect of misunderstanding God was from someone who thought that maybe God
was sending out the vaccine quickly to help man. I sent an article which was relevant, and an
account of my own experience from learning about God’s allness and goodness, which were treated to the grand ignore! Mrs. Eddy said that it is our ignorance of God that produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony. Sharing our healings is the best way to help
people understand, and also it substantiates our own understanding. Lots of good sharing on
this SpiritView.
How wonderful to learn in Christian Science that creation is spiritual, and God is GOOD and only good. Also, that the “false process of mortal opinions” ( Science and Health, page 390) can be proven false as we see that Truth is true.
I am grateful for this community of sharing Christian Science and the wonderful examples, and demonstrations of what we are learning.

I’ve been studying Jack Hubbell’s very clear article in the October 2005 CS Journal titles; “Refuse To Be Divided.” I am applying the ideas in it to the
belief of any and all power apart from God, divine Truth, Life, Love. Error (covid) is not real, but, as he explains about all error, evil, it is, a “false concept acting mesmerically in human consciousness.”
We know the truth and the truth, the Christ, frees us from this mesmeric belief. I pray to be more diligent in this scientific application of truth!! Its logic is so obvious! And as we know, powerful!!
What a relief & joy it was for me when I learned about Christian Science, and in this new discovery a God who was Constant and Only Good, All and Only Love. At last, a completely logical, non-contradictory or confusing God; not an anthropomorphic god who was manlike— sometimes cruel, sometimes turning his back on us, changeable and uncertain. No wonder it had been hard to pray snd expect anything from this outmoded and ineffective god. It us such a universal belief in such a god that keeps people trapped and feeling helpless. Mrs. Eddy unveiled God as She/He really is, and opened The Way once again to understand ourselves made in this perfect, Whole, Beautiful, Permanent Image of The One Eternally Loving Mind, whose creation is spiritual. I am grateful every day to have been shown this healing and wonderful-full way of thinking and knowing!

Thanks for sharing the true message that God is Love. So often it is pounded into human thought that when bad things happen God is testing or cursing us. Certain scriptures are used to substantiate this claim. Kings 17:18 is one… “O thou man of God? Art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance,” Utter nonsense…
The very clear thought came to me a year ago that Divine Love God created everything good, so, of course, would not have created a virus. It has given me such peace knowing this all year. I am so grateful for the Science of Christianity that Mary Baker Eddy

Thank You Evan for clarifying this absurd (abnormal) situation with Truth. Thank You Laura for affirmative of God IS, as I know God is seen and felt as All Presence of Only Good, therefore forever present, error is not. Humanity cannot even make God good absent or be mesmerised by putting a past tense to God and His Creation. I find this pure idea of God as Presence so powerful that negates everything that suggest God is absent from our atmosphere of consciousness. His/Her loving Presence is All in all. All good, harmonious being and perpetual harmony is the true Presence of Spirit and its Idea; Man is inseparable from the Presence of God, Good is a divine idea- Truth and we move and live this divine idea of Good Now as normality everywhere. What the world of error presents is the allegory and we know the allegory is a false view/story of mortal sense of life.
We have the perfect “anti-body,” the Science of Christ!
