God sees so much good in you

“Heaven smiles on you, angels rejoice over you. Press on.”

~ The Mary Baker Eddy Collection

Do you realize how happy God is with you?

Oh yes, I know, you’ve made your share of mistakes over the years. You’ve fouled up a number of times, voiced words you later regretted, made the wrong decision more than once, slacked off when you should have worked harder, lost faith when times were tough, and even wondered, “What’s the point of even trying?” when it seemed like no one else cared.

But God doesn’t keep track of human shortcomings. God sees the spiritual you. God sees the divine you that outlasts all the mistakes, foibles, missteps and regrets.

You are a glorious creation. You have so much good to offer.

You are beautiful, intelligent, worthy and able. Yes, in your own special way. You are like no other. But that’s what makes you extra special to God. You have a unique role to play in the eternal scheme of things. You were created for a purpose, a special purpose that no one else can fulfill. And life is your opportunity to fill your niche.

God sees all the good in you. God knows it’s there because He put it there. And you can discover it, too.

So, don’t let mortal mind beat you up with discouragement or dismay. Those are carnal mind distractions meant to keep you from accepting and being everything God created you to be. Cast them off, and keep on marching ahead with the truth of being, that you are good, you are worthy, you are able, and today is the moment to prove it!

God sees so much good in you. You can too.

  1. Thank you Evan!

I was thinking about “ideas” yesterday. It occurred to me that if I asked someone to think of an “apple” that each person would hold a slightly different idea of an apple. Some might hold an idea of a red apple, others might hold an idea of a green apple (I love green apples), etc. And I bet each person’s idea of an apple they were holding in thought would be perfect. In other words, I doubt when I asked someone to think of an apple that they would think of a bruised apple or a mealy apple or a rotten apple.

Similarly if I asked someone to think of a generic man or woman, the idea of man/woman that would most likely come to thought would be beautiful, vigorous, healthy, happy, loving, etc. But then if I asked them to think of themselves, or someone else, the “idea” might change dramatically to a man/woman with one or more problems.

The ideas God creates are similar to the ideas we think of when we think of something generically. As you so clearly bring out in the blog today, God’s ideas are “beautiful, intelligent, worthy and able”. As we choose to hold the perfect idea of God in thought, instead of the corrupted, counterfeit, mortal idea, we will see God’s wonderful ideas manifested in our daily experience. And that’s pretty cool, isn’t it?

  4. Not often a blog makes tears. But this one did! Beginning with that precious picture. And the message so comforting, Evan. A Christmas gift of infinite value. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  5. Evan, thank you so much for this post today. As another comment said – it is just what I needed. I shall cherish this message and keep it close in thought. So grateful for your insightful blog messages.

  6. Thank you for this Evan. The timing, as usual, is perfect, and the message has brought me to happy tears. Last night, as I was praying before falling asleep, a suggestion came to thought that I am not worthy enough to receive healing. And I actually listened to it for a few minutes, recounting many of the things I’ve done that you cover in your second paragraph.

This blog is one (among many of your blogs) that goes into my “keeper” file.

    Thank you so much!

    Much love and Merry Christmas!

  9. Boy, do we All need to hear this…..every day!! Thank you so much, Evan! The whole world needs to hear this, constantly. And isn’t this the Message Jesus came to tell all of us…..”The Good News”!! So this is Christmas – a time to celebrate The Good News of how Good we all really are and of how much God knows us that way and cherishes us and Loves us! I feel so Uplifted and this makes me want to share this Good News with all my neighbors and to cherish each one’s spiritual identity in my Heart! Love to All!

  10. Great explanation of how God sees us…thank you Evan and also to Brian for his comment. Both has brought me to an AHA moment. And like Holly, I too sometimes catch myself thinking that I’m not worthy or that God maybe doesn’t know me.

Keep the ideas coming, Evan! I look forward to this blog every morning.

  11. P.S. I just listened to the Daily Lift and it dovetails perfectly with Spiritview today! It’s title is: “Getting Beyond Mistakes”! There really IS just ONE MIND! Gratitude!

  12. This is absolutely lovely. God’s never-ending love for each one of us is so needed and deeply felt. We are new born every moment exactly as God causes us to be. This is how I am also endeavoring to see in my fellow man. Thank you for such humility and love expressed.

  13. What an inspiring and insightful message – thanks so much! I’ve been reading the article by Louise Knight Wheatley “THE SMELL OF FIRE” written in 1920 and available in the first volume of the Anthology of Classic Articles. Although written primarily about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego coming out of the fiery furnace where not even “the smell of fire had passed on them,” she also has a couple if very inspiring and helpful thoughts on the “fallacy of self-condemnation …and that we did get out of it finally, but not so quickly nor so gracefully nor so spectacularly as it now makes us believe we should have done, or as anybody else would have done under the same circumstances.” Later on she states, “Unless those who may now be criticizing stood right beside us in the furnace all through it, they are in no position to judge how hot the fire was.” I came through a fiery experience this past year and this article has been especially comforting.

You have a precious angel pictured at the top!

  14. Shake off the dust, the mortal sense of things. Dust tends to appear with out notice Your thoughts today wipe it clean!

  15. Thanks Evan and all who wrote. This is exactly what I needed today also. I had a heartfelt talk my daughter, who s living at home, last night and she shared she is really questioning her worth and just wants to feel competent in something. Even feeling unworthy in her Christian Science demonstrations. I listened mostly last night. Today, as I sat to write prayer and blessings for her to clarify my thinking before answering I found this. It addresses all the issues she talked of talked of last night. Thank you for the need met even before I asked.
    With love & gratitude,

  16. Since God sees only the good, creates only the good and is only the good, where is evil? NOWHERES! is the only correct answer which instantaneously demolishes the evil.
