  1. Thanks, Evan. A good reminder not to ruminate, but to concentrate on God’s voice. It’s always there, no matter the need.

    1. Beautiful trees, and a perfect place to listen for and hear God’s voice. Thank you, Evan. The only voices that have to be shut out in this lovely environment are the insidious voices of the material senses which would try and prevent us from hearing, and these are the ones we really need to clear away in order to hear the voice of God speaking to us.

Here is a hymn by Mary Baker Eddy, that is a good one to use as a prayer to help:-

Shepherd, show me how to go
      O’er the hillside steep,
How to gather, how to sow,
      How to feed Thy sheep;
I will listen for Thy voice,
      Lest my footsteps stray;
      I will follow and rejoice
      All the rugged way.
      ( HYMN 304:1)

  2. What a beautiful setting and message for us to hear. Thank you, Evan!
Being in amongst those awesome tall trees must have been such a
wonderful experience. The photo above reminds me of a lovely
cathedral of trees with the sun being like a stained glass – voice of God
beaming into our hearts with such warmth and Love. The surround
sound of God’s ever presence, like the birds singing in a wooded
sanctuary is tuning in to the nature of divine Love.
Thank you so much for taking us along on your journey.

  3. Dear Evan, thank you so much for this reminder to listen for that “still small voice of God,” which is always speaking. We really do hear God‘s voice and see evidence of God in such exquisite setting of nature.

This verse from Isaiah takes me back to my very first “true“ Christian Sience experience when I was just learning about Christian science. Was a young theater student studying in England. Just days since my arrival, I travel back to where I was living on the bus late one night after rehearsal; got off my bus to walk to where I lived, but I’d only been there a short time and I really did not know where I supposed to go. It was dark, and in that moment, I was totally confused about where I was supposed to go after the bus, and couldn’t get my bearings. Then I looked up the street, and saw a lighted shop window, I walked towards it, and saw that it was a display in the window of a Christian Science Reading Room. It was only light on that dark street, illuminating the pages of Science and Health & the Bible. I don’t remember what the citation in our textbook was, but this was the Bible verse that was marked and shining out to me that night.
I thought” wow! This is a message to me from God! I’ll pay attention!” so I started walking, and I just felt more than heard instructions on which way to walk when to turn, and I eventually found my way to the place I was staying.
This experience has never left me, and I keep it as the first of my-perhaps thousand- healings, blessings, and really countless moments when that Voice, the clear presence of God, is made known to me.

I’m so grateful for SpiritView, to you, Evan, and all the SpiritViewers who graciously share and support and love.

    1. Annie, thank you for sharing this – it is a really lovely example of hearing God’s voice guiding you when you
      needed it.

  4. Lovely setting …so right for your message. Thank you Evan.
In a forest the trees just keep on going to reach the maximum light…and so ..we keep listening to hear Gods maximum RIGHT❣️

    1. Thank you J. That is a lovely article.

It reminds me of the poem by Dorothy Frances Gurney the most famous lines being:-

“The kiss of the sun for pardon, / The song of the birds for mirth, / One is nearer God’s heart in a garden / Than anywhere else on earth”.

  5. All of these lovely thoughts today are so inspiring. Thank you all for this
vlog and the helpful ideas included and following. Trees such as the
sequoias are perfect examples of God’s expression. They are grounded
with roots (spiritual blessings) that help grow thought higher, reaching
for the sunlight of God’s caring for us. They withstand the winds of mortal
temptations and are sturdy against what might try to sway them in other
directions, not heavenward, and are examples of persistence in knowing
that God’s voice – the still, small voice of eternity’s direction is guiding us
if we listen. They are a beautiful setting in which to learn God’s stillness
and calm and power and although we may not seem to see progress,
like their growth, our growth, too, in being spirit ward, is surrounding us
with what is truly nearer God’s heart in His being the Creator of such
strength and endurance … as with these trees that tower above obstacles
that they may have had to conquer.

  6. So many times I have written to my best friend, “Just now, out on the porch……” That is my quiet place, and although God’s voice comes through to me at other times and other places, “Out on the porch” seems to be the place where I can be most receptive.

Sometimes, when I’m very worried about what seems to be a serious health issue with a loved one, I have actually heard, “I’ll take care of it!” and my mind immediately knows with no doubt that it is in His hands and all will be well.

Other times when I’ve been trying to figure out an answer for something or other, “out on the porch” the answer comes to me, just as easily as that.

Other times I try to hear God’s voice but my mortal mind is not cooperating. I always know that God is there – for me and for each of use, his beloved children. It is a learning upward journey for each of us and I am so grateful for this blog and all the replies and links to helpful articles, and especially to God for always providing me with a caring Christian science friend as I have traveled my own very long road over the decades. I do not belong to the CS Church, but have been welcomed with open arms the times I have attended one of the branch churches.
