Look for the open door and walk through it.

“I have opened a door for you that no one can close” (Rev. 3:8).

  1. What a Beautiful illustration you bring us today. With the light showing through the door just willing us to enter! Love this especially at the beginning of the week ….it just encourages us to break any mis-messages and follow the path to Truth and the eternal Principal which is our Being.
The best thing is that it is open for everyone, every where. Thank you Evan. Happy day to everyone ❣️

  2. Many years ago an artist erected “an open door” on our local beach. When the tide washed across its base, one could look through the door across to the open sea and sky, and it really felt like a sense of infinite freedom. The link https://kencooperpoetry.com/i-have-set-before-thee-an-open-door/ gives a further link to a pdf poem about an open door, – the last verse is:
“No matter where you are, just one stride lets you in.
His Love is always there, and takes away all sin.
God can never shutter Her constant love for man.
Love’s door is always open: Walk right through now! You can!” Just the one step away…..

    1. The whole poem is lovely. Thank you, Ken, for directing us to your poetry page. where you have a plethora of wonderful poems.

  3. Beautiful poem Ken!! Lately, I keep doing paintings of open doors too…that sentence in the Bible is one of my favourites and it is so applicable to so many situations too.

  4. Clearly, in all we read and glimpse of The Way out of mortal, material beliefs, there is something one must do (or not do!) to “walk through that always open door.”

I am being forced by my divine Principle to deny sin (all belief in powers other than God, Good, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Infinite, divine Love, Mind.

There is NO escaping this! We choose our path moment by moment, throughout eternity. The forever fact is that God is working with us, in us, as us, always, for God is, after all, all-in-all.

    Correct, Evan?

  5. Being too attached to our “own” plans of what to do next may be human outlining. I try to trust that He places us all where we are supposed to be every minute. A good prayer is, God show me the next right action.

It can be hard to hear Him when we’re locked in our own mental churnings. which can cause a lot of anxiety.

Isaiah 30:21 -If you stray to the right or the left, you will hear a word that comes from behind you: “This is the way; walk in it.”
Hymn 304 -“I will listen for thy voice lest my footsteps stray,”

A blessed new week to everyone!

  6. Thank you Evan. It is important to see and choose to go through the open door, ensuring we are headed in the right direction. The lesson this week discusses decisions and Mrs. Eddy says “Your decisions will master you, whichever direction they take.” (SH 392:22) She also says on pg. 82 “…it is wise earnestly to consider whether it is the human mind or the divine Mind which is influencing one.” These decisions apply to ourselves and to decisions being made by our administrations and world organisations.

There is an excellent article written in 1943 that gives guidance on how to think about the decisions we and the world are making, whether it is about health or safety and governance. It is by Perry H. Radcliffe from the February 27, 1943 issue of the Sentinel entitled “The Vision of St. John and the Present War Crisis”. https://sentinel.christianscience.com/issues/1943/2/45-9/the-vision-of-st.-john-and-the-present-war-crisis

A blessed open door day to all.

  7. Thank you very much Evan! For me important and very comforting are the words from Revelation : the door … that no one can close.” Also God’s loving
a r m s are always wide open that we may come unto Him! ♡
Thanks for the lovely poem Ken; and Angie for the wonderful article!♡

I love the idea it just takes one step to move forward. Also ,Isaiah 30:21 -If you stray to the right or the left, you will hear a word that comes from behind you: “This is the way; walk in it.”
We walk with Love along the way, and oh it is a holy day as hymn 139 from the CS hymnal reminds us!
Have a wonderful day moving forward!

  9. A catchphrase from the Toy Story movies by the character Buzz Lightyear is “To infinity and beyond!” This refers to limitless possibilities. That phrase came to mind as I looked at the picture of the open door facing the sun. I liked the thought of walking through the open door and leaving behind a limited material view and exchanging it for a totally unlimited and limitless spiritual view!

  10. Just want to thank you again. This picture reminds me of yard art….I actually have an old turquoise floor lamp, turned on its side in the iris bed which I call yard art. The lamp was too pretty to throw away!
