I have been pondering from the Lesson Sermon this week on Soul,
how divine Love won over the situation between Esau
and Jacob. All the temptations that they both fell for were eventually ruled out by the Law of Soul, the Law of divine Love.
I was thinking about the miseries of thought that Jacob had to
confront, the guilt, the fear of his brother etc. – and also
the temptation to Esau to be angry and feel like he would kill his
brother because of his subtlety in tricking their Father
and stealing his birthright. God must have been with
them both throughout these material challenges, making
them ready and desirous of changing their whole outlook on
life from the material to the spiritual. All their false
fears and false suggestions were dissolved as Love
turned them back to the natural brotherly love they
had for each other. It also came to me that
neither of them actually had any “birth rights” because man
was never born into matter. He is immortal and spiritual as God’s own image and likeness.
I can only imagine the joy and relief that they must have felt at their reunion. They were both equally blessed of their true Father-Mother God, and must have come to realise this.
Such an important Lesson to keep loving and acknowledging
God as our Father-Mother, and continually reflecting that love
for one another, so that all the material suggestions against Love’s law cannot deprive us of the joy and naturalness of being Love’s reflection.
Thank you Evan and thank you for your insiteful comment Maggie. I was thinking much the same thing this morning….reading the relevant bible citations from the lesson several times to seek a deeper message. Then I thought if only Putin could feel this too…sorry to be political … There is much prayer to be done for the whole world for everyone to feel justice , comfort and protection .
True being is love reflected in Love❣️
How many times through my life have I tried so hard & hold on to anger, hurt feelings, resentments, self-righteous condemnation, etc., but finally release these as I came to recognize each one as rightfullly MY brother or sister, as we share ONE Parent, have compassion for their personal plight & life circumstance, understand. And so, in each situation, my mistaken views simply dissolved! What a relief each time! I’ve had to learn this lesson many times in my life, but am better these days, dismissing such convoluted notions. Everyone is God’s offspring, her/his birthright Love, so each one MUST love. [It’s the Law!] Oh! Love is infinitely easier on us than all that work trying to hold on to a grudge or prejudice. Last night was one incident of simply letting go, as I had a delightful, giggling conversation with someone I had thought (for years) had really bad behavior and wrong opinions,’
HA! We both felt those phoney beliefs (I’m sure she harbored some hostility tiwrads ne too) float away ~ we met as friends & embraced as loving children! It was freeing!
YES! Love IS easier!!
Wow, Annie. thanks for sharing the how of choosing love and acceptance over harsh judgement of self and others. Thanks Evan for inspiration and all the shares here.
I have difficulty getting to love and out of the human feelings. At times the only resolve for me is gratitude for Life, and ask for the ability to forgive and let go of the human feelings that cloud my heart.
Noble Muse I agree that it is difficult to let go of the human resentments if we approach the task from a human, material perspective, trying to do it with human will. The limited material perspective is what tripped us up in the first place, it can’t get us out. Humbly asking our loving God to help us forgive and let go, and knowing we do have this ability through Him is a wise way to go.
I too, have felt this difficulty–as I’m sure most of have!–of trying to forgive on a merely human level. I’ve shared this article before, but it’s worth sharing again. It’s been so helpful in getting beyond human forgiveness to learn how Jesus forgave his enemies while hanging on the cross and while in the tomb.
“Love looseth thee, and lifteth me,
A-yont hate’s thrall:
There Life is light,
And wisdom might,
And God is All”. (Hymn 161) …
“We in Love’s pure likeness shine” …
Beautiful thoughts of Love’s sweet presence
being felt here so prevalent.
God IS Love.
Thank you Evan. Love is something to live in. One needs to work out resentment from thought and will find out that error of any sort cannot make itself evident but will fade away.
Thanks dear Evan for your true words in your today’s SpiritView!♡
But I just want to relate to the event of Esau and Jacob in this week’s lesson. First thank you for your very interesting explanations dear Maggie! However, yesterday evening in her Wed reading of The Motherchurch, Mimi Oka read about Esau and Jacob, that in younger years Jacob asked Esau to sell him his first-born birthright. And according to chapter 25 in Genesis Esau sold Jacob his first-born birthright. So why tells the story later that Jacob stole Esau’s First birthright?
perhaps somebody here from our dear SpiritView community has an answer to it. Would be very pleased and interested to learn about that!
With Love!
Good point Uta. In Genesis 27: 36 is says “Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and behold, now he hath taken away my blessing.” The account seems to say Esau voluntarily sold his birthright but was robbed of his blessing. Obviously Esau was angry about losing both. Maybe when he was young he didn’t care but later it mattered to him.
Thanks very much Evan, Maggie and all for keeping us focused on acknowledging God as all cause and effect and each of us as His/Her beautiful, manifestation…filled up full with love. One of my constants in praying for the world community is “nothing apart from God is present or has power”.

These are lovely thoughts Maggie and I read them before doing the Bible Lesson today. Thank you for your insights. x

Thank you Evan and Maggie. Wonderful comments and I will use them when I teach Sunday School ! Thanks again , I love Spirit View
Human love can fail us, but divine Love is the glue that keeps mankind working toward peaceful solutions.
God ends wars!
Thank you Evan and all who shared.
Very loving thoughts to absorb and then put into practice and it has to begin with each of us.
Much love to all!

It was Isaac’s BLESSING of Esau, that Jacob stole in chapter 27, which is different to the Birthright, I think.
Interesting Tony! Thank you very much for this reply. Will Think about it. ♡
