Thank you Evan, thats much Love to stop the hot-tempered, and its healing. When I was hot-tempered in church about a situation, my friend laughed at it, and I was calmed. Later I felt, that her laughing at the anger chased it away, and the situatin was healed! Then we could talk about my situation friendly. Am very grateful that we can help each other.
Thanks for this reminder Evan. Being calm, cool, collected, sober, quiet are all qualities of “SOUL” a synonym for God. Very often, I lose my cool. But I keep working at it.
In order to maintain my spiritual cool intact, I need to identify myself with the qualities of SOUL daily. The day I have done my prayerful identification work, I am able to maintain my spiritual cool better. Its so important to do our daily identification work and know our self as the reflection and expression of TRUTH, LIFE, LOVE, SPIRIT, SOUL, MIND, DIVINE PRINICPLE – THE SEVEN SYNONYMS OF GOD.
If we pray well, we are in better control of our life. Why? Because prayers enable us to rise to our Spiritual selfhood and stay there. This enables us to remain cool, tranquil, calm, peaceful, loving, forgiving, kind, gentle, patient, healthy, intact, pure, holy, honest, ethical, punctual, upright, disciplined and happy.
Deeply grateful to Evan for the daily inspirations.
I always appreciate your insightful comments, Nergish, and this morning’s is no different. I wonder if you would be willing to share a bit about your “daily identification work”. I am most interested in learning more about that habit. Sincere thanks to you.
Thank you, Evan for this great reminder and thank you, Nergish for such a wonderful list of qualities to strive for, although in Truth, perfection, we already have them.
I agree with J’nean, the insights shared by Nergish are truly inspiring. Please do share your daily identification work..would surely want to practice it, as am sure it will be very beneficial. Thanks Evan for the most beautiful mesaage again today.
NLT = Is this the New Language Translation of Proverbs 15:18?
I enjoy your occasional use of other Bible translations, Evan. Thanks.
I am wondering how others feel about our Wed. Testimony Meeting Readings
in our Christian Science Churches occasionally being read from other translations?
I feel it can sometimes really clarify an idea to read in plain English.
I love the King James Version.
I am open, though, to now and then hearing other Versions. Our First Reader used the
NET (New English Translation Bible? Do I have this correctly? Or is it NEB?)
Anyway, I’d be interested in some Comments on this.
I find when I am truly feeling my connection with God, I don’t get angry. I KNOW that I am God’s beloved child, and nothing anyone else says or does can alter that fact.
I used to have anger issues. I learned anger management techniques to help me overcome them, which did help some. But true healing doesn’t come from managing a negative emotion; it comes from recognizing it has no hold over me, or anyone! And knowing our birthright as God’s beloved. Then, I know whatever anyone else says or does can’t take anything away from me, or anyone else.
Daily work is essential, as Nergish says. We each have to find what works for us. Mary Baker Eddy lists daily duties in the Church Manual, and of course there’s the Bible Lesson – but renewing that connection with God is what’s important, however we do it! And keeping it fresh and active. MBE also speaks against formulas. There are no set steps to take, other than putting God first!
I’ve made a “Daily Defense” sheet for myself, with various quotes I find inspiring (such as “be still, and know that I am God), and MBE’s daily duties; that’s a good starting point for me, but I don’t always use it. Sometimes just sitting and clearing my thought helps the most. How is not important. Doing it consistently is.
Thanks, Evan, and to all the Great Commenters! Wow! Good Stuff! Christian Science is really about knowing how to identify ourselves and others correctly – as spiritual ideas of God, the One Divine Mind. Seeing ourselves as physical, mortal beings only perpetuates the “dream”. But knowing ourselves rightly as Jesus taught, as the sons and daughters of our Father, God, lifts us up into the healing consciousness where only Spirit is real. Indeed….. “The time for thinkers has come.”!!!! Science and Health, vii.
Yes, the “peace of God” allows us to remain peaceful in the face of provocation. It also leads us to a practical response that both protects us and blesses all.

“OUR DAILY IDENTIFICATION WORK”
BY ARTHUR P. Wuth.
-The Christian Science Journal – February, 1978
“TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF TO YOURSELF AS THE EXPRESSION OF GOD’S BEING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT WORK YOU DO EACH DAY.
WHO AM I?
I AM AN INDIVIDUAL SPIRITUAL CONSCIOUSNESS.
WHAT AM I?
I AM THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD, A SPIRITUAL IDEA, AN EXPRESSION OF THE INFINITE, THE REFLECTION OF GOD’S BEING.
WHERE AM I?
I AM RIGHT HERE IN GOD’S UNIVERSE, NEVER OUTSIDE HIS PRESENCE, CONTROL OR INFLUENCE. BECAUSE I AM GOD CENTRED, I AM ALWAYS IN MY RIGHT PLACE.
WHY AM I?
I EXIST TO FULFIL GOD’S WILL, TO BEAR WITNESS TO WHAT HE IS, TO GLORIFY HIM, TO MANIFEST HIS QUALITIES.
WHEN AM I?
I EXIST IN THIS MOMENT, RIGHT NOW, ALWAYS, IN ETERNITY, NEITHER PAST NOR FUTURE, BUT IN THE ETERNAL NOW.
Thank you Evan, just what I needed to remember this morning ~

Great comment Ellen. Thanks! I really loved this statement:
