“Want to keep Christ in Christmas? Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, forgive the guilty, welcome the unwanted, care for the ill, love your enemies, and do unto others as you would have done unto you.”
~ Steve Maraboli
The “hungry” come in many forms—those hungry for love, for truth, for compassion.
The “naked” are more common than you may realize—those stripped of dignity, care or respect.
The “guilty” are everywhere. Who hasn’t made a mistake they regret or need to see their way out of?
The “ill” are standing on every corner.
And enemies who are unhappy, angry or carrying a grudge are people who can be turned into friends.
The need is to love, and the opportunities abound.
Evan,..Now that’s what I’m “talkin” about..Amen
Love this ! A great way to care for our fellow man.
Beautiful and so consice. The 5 material senses turned to spiritual sence.
Thanks, Evan. This is a perfect answer to my prayers about a difficult situation at work. A new perspective, a timeless standard: Love, love, love!
Thank you. It is always about Love loving….and in the giving. Giving can be in the ‘yielding up’ of judging and condemning…giving up “labels”
Happy Christmas!
The” naked and guilty” stood out to me. In the recent months the media has smeared so many people. They weren’t innocent but the lack of love, respect, dignity expressed has been way over board. Do unto others as you would have done unto you certainly should be remembered. Also, he who is without sin, let him throw the 1st stone. We must love more and forgive. I’m trying to say I love you everyday to someone.
Wow! Love this expanded view. <3
Thank you, Evan, for this beautiful posting. It’s simplicity is magnificent.
Beautiful, simple, and do-able. I sent this to my whole family. Thank you, Evan and Merry Christmas.
Thanks Evan. That’s a terrific way to look at this phrase! Merry Christmas!!
Great shift in perspective for me on these terms. Glorious!
Great! Yes! Thank you!
Pondering the age old question, “What is love?”
with the teachings of Christian Science I reason
Love is the Force ~ the Creator ~ the infinite All of
the entire spiritual creation, with no atom of evil or
error anywhere. So man, as Love’s idea, is always
loved and loving. Cannot be otherwise. Love’s man
is never hungry for love, for truth, for compassion;
never stripped of dignity, care or respect; has never
made a mistake he or she regrets or needs to see a way out of;
never ill or unhappy, angry or carrying a grudge.
While we are doing and thinking the good and right human
responses to the belief that man can experience any of those
negative things, as wise men and women we will be
realizing the spiritual facts right where the material belief is
trying to make its claims.
“The divinity of the Christ was made manifest in the humanity of Jesus.”
